Tara trapped herself in her house for the following days after visiting Asha. She more her studies independent and online. She worked at her desk till she felt crossed eyes, then stayed up writing and making notes. She pushed back her hair and walked into the bathroom. The bright lights blinded her, making her squint as she looked at herself. She still wore the necklace given to her; she wore a hoodie and sweats. Tara pulled her hair back in a messy bun. she needed a break; she's been living in fear and eating her up inside; she needed a day for herself. She stripped herself of the skin that was her sweats and took a desperately needed shower. She rushed her hair, letting the water flow down her back; she sighed as the cool droplets hit her face. She let the feeling of anxiety drift away, and her heavy chest got lighter.

Wrapping a towel around herself and stepping out of the shower, she whipped her fogged mirror and looked at herself. She looked refreshed and born again. Tara went into her closet to get ready. She wore a cropped full sleeve with some jeans. She slipped on her shoes, grabbed her purse, and opened her door. she looked around and saw a tall man at the very end of her hallway. Looking at the opposite side and another man., she couldn't see what they looked like, but the sun hit them to where it looked like they were glowing. She felt her chest get tight, but she quickly went to the elevator kicking to the lobby floor; the elevator doors opened as she walked out, and she saw a man looking at her sitting in the lounge. The sun glowed around him like a halo. Tara gripped her purse and walked faster into the street with the crowd of people.

Her hands trembled as she picked up her phone.'Seth, for the love of God, please answer.'

'Hello, bunny.' Seth answered the phone.

'People are following me.'Tara sounded panicked; she started rambling, and panic settled in her chest.

'Tara, I need you to calm down; where are you?'Seth soothed her, and Tara clamped into her chest. She quickly sat down on a bench at the local coffee shop.

'I-'m at the coffee shop near my apartment.'She steadied herself and leaned back, her heading hitting the cold window.

'im coming. Stay on the call with me.'

'it's bad to be on the phone, Seth.'

'i don't care; you need to calm down. I know you're not okay. don't even touch the red button.'Seth slammed his car door and drove to her. Tara put on her headphones, closed her eyes, and listened to Seth drive. She could hear his radio and him getting angry.' don't you dare move.'

'im not. I promise.'

Seth POV

When I got the phone call, I thought Tara was checking in after what happened last week, but the second her voice hissed. I dropped whatever I was doing, got my jacket, and ran to her.

How can a human make me get on my knees and worship them? Months ago, she was some drunk party girl whose boyfriend cheated on her. Now she's a part of my world because she is my world. I fell in love with Tara, the countless text, and just talking. The idea of her in my arms makes me want to become a monster; I need to protect her. That was the only thing going into my mind. Tara. Tara, I needed to protect her.

Seth parked his car near the cafe and saw tara on the bench. He ran and got on his knees in front of her holding her hands. She opened her eyes and slumped her body into his; she wrapped her arms around his neck. her breath started to shake again."I'm here, bunny, I'm here. Tara squeezed his hand, calming her breathing; a single tear fell on her cheeks; she whipped it away. The set got up and held her arm, pulling her up. she smashed her face into his rib cage, cooling herself down."Are you okay?" he felt tara nod and put a hand behind her head.

"Can we go get something, please?"Tara asked, looking up at him, Seth nodded, and they walked inside and ordered their food. Tara held onto his hand, not interlocking fingers. They got their drinks and sat at a table. Traa near the window, Seth protecting her by wrapping an arm around her chair. she put her left arm on the table and her hand in the plan and looked at him."You didn't need to come."

"You make it think I wouldn't start a war to come and save you. I will save you from anything."Tara blushed as Seth held her chin. she took a sip of her drink."Can you explain to me what happened?"

"When I left my apartment, two vampires were at each end of my hallway. Then I quickly got in the elevator, I made it to the lobby, and another was sitting at the lounge. He was reading the newspaper like a normal person, but then he looked at me and smiled; I saw his teeth set."Traa put her head on his chest in frustration.

"Kian has gone too far; he's trying to make a move."

"My own house is not safe anymore, Seth."

"Or any local coffee shops, dear."Tar grabbed tonto Seth's arm at eh voice Kian was a few tables away from them. "Nice trick with the garlic flower. Kept my men and me away."

"don't make a scene, Lycan. it won't be nice to see your pretty face burn to a crisp."Seth brought Tara closer.

"Leave before you get hurt, bloodsucker," Tara said, looking at him, her fear overrun by the feeling of sight next to her. You are protecting her.

Kian bowed his head, and the sound of coffee getting slipped got Tara and Seth's attention. The barista is getting cleaned up quickly. Tara looked back, and Kian vanished. she tapped Seth's shoulder.

"Let's go."Seth grabbed her arm, and they went to his car. "I have an idea; it might help you feel safer."

"What's your idea, Seth."Tara looked at him, buckling her seatbelt and steading her heart.

"I have an extra room at my house; why don't you be my roommate."
