Tara was asleep at her desk with a clutter of notebooks and stick notes; her head was against a book. She got up from a ping sound off her phone, and it was from Ki telling her once again an excellent morning.

She smiled at the text, part of her daily routine, which consisted of waking up to a text from Ki, trying to declutter her room after a study-filled night. Get ready for school, go to all her classes, and study at the school library, where she would hand out with Seth. Usually.

He hasn't been responding to her texts or sitting next to her during class, and she could never spot him. They hadn't talked for a while, and tara would pout when he just read her text.

"What's going on? She huffed, closing her door and heading down the elevator to her car. She wanted to talk to her friend.

'Seth, please answer me.'-read

'Seth, did I do something wrong.'-read

She just closed her phone and started her car, driving to her school; she made it to the student parking when eh phone pinged.

'I'm busy, stay safe.' she read the text and unions sturcketd her, he's been busy he could have asked her for help or anything, but no. he kept to himself and left her on reading. Tara slammed the car door and went to her class. She texted Ki.

'Morning, how was your night.' tara got into her class and opened up her notebook and the mysterious book she found. She opened her note and started to jot down and make notes; as her class started, she semi-paid attention to the lecture.

"A Blood Sun ring."-this ring is part of the many vampire courts; they are helpful for vampires to be able to walk in the dun and blend in with other humans. A sketch of the ring in her book showed what the ring looked like, and it had a squared dark red matt gem with dark silver to hold it in place; something felt familiar with it.

The lecture clock went off, and everyone got out of their seat." Tara, a word." the teacher asked, and she sat back down. "Tara, you are one of my best students, but I would like you to pay attention in my class."Her teacher said they instructed her."I'll see you tomorrow."Tara got up, grabbed her belonging, and headed to her next class.

Seth was waiting for Tara near a wall; she walked to her next class, and Seth walked a few people behind her. Seth hid under his hood and followed her, and he wasn't going to let Kian get away with his plan. He cared about her, after all.

Flashback

it was a couple of weeks after the whole frat party fiasco. Tara was feeling extra down and wanted to go out and party. She was still young; she had nothing to lose.

She got all dolled up and left her apartment, clicking the elevator door closed. She texted some people she knew from school, and they all met outside her apartment building.

They went to a local club. They all started to dance and party around. Tara was with a study friend, and they held hands, dancing the entire time. It was getting closer to midnight, and they went to a frat party from a different university; one of the guys in the group knew somebody that goes there. So they all went.

Tara danced and jumped around with the group till drinks came. They all went to the kitchen and, shot after shot, were clicked on the table counter. Tar was six shots down and felt herself get dizzy. she went, and a bunch of girls were smoking in the bathroom. "Should I text my ex?" she thought out loud, and the group of high girls yelled at her.

"Girl, no fucking way."One said.

"He's your ex for a reason, sweetheart."Another said. Tara nodded at their words, and she stumbled outside and sat on the staircase leading to the house. The frat party was near the backyard pool so that nobody would bother her. she brought out her phone, got crossed eyes from the light, and called Seth.

"Bunny shouldn't you be asleep," Seth answered the phone.

"Heyyy, wolfie."Tara slurred her words, and Seth stopped what he was doing and grabbed his keys.

"Are you drunk?"He said, getting in his car and reversing back.

"Maybe, I went to this frat party on Stella Lane. and I had six shots of whatever they gave me was so good."Seh smiled.' i was wondering why I was the only one that knew about your secret.' her words were in a slurry, and spit was drooling out her mouth.

"Stay where you are. I'm going to take you home."Seth drove from his house in the mountains to the frat house's suburban area. Tara was holding her phone in her hand, shivering and holding herself. She was going in and out of sleep from the loud music. Seth drove on the lawn and stopped the car near her. he got out quickly and led her to the passenger seat."I just met you, and I'm already your designated driver."He claimed and went back to his seat and drove to her apartment.

One in the morning, Seth was in the elevator with a half-asleep drunken tara on his arm; he grabbed her keys and led her inside. and to the bathroom. where she pucked up all her drinking. "Seth."Her pouting voice called out from the bathroom; he was getting her an Advil and water."Come here."Seth set her stuff on the nightstand. he sat next to her, and she laid her head on his chest, hearing his heartbeat."I'm sorry if I ruined your night, and other drunk things are said or done."She said falling asleep.

"Everyone was drunk; you're fine. But I will hold you accountable for things."Tara fell asleep on his chest, and he brought her to her bed, tucking her in before leaving

Flashforward

Seth was looking down when he was reminiscing on the memory. He looked up, and she was gone. He didn't panic; he would find her; he started his search.

Tara was going in the opposite direction from where he was searching; she was on the phone her hands were shaking.

"Hey, Ki." Tara's voice shook as she spoke.

"Hello, little rose, are you okay you don't sound alright."Ki's voice asked, and she got a bit calmer.

"Can we meet at Willows Park tonight around 9." she walked down the steps to the lower level of the school where the student parking was.

"Yeah, I would love to meet up. Are you sure you're alright?"

"I'm fine ill see you then."Tara hung up the phone and walked to her car; she needed the moon to come out soon.

Nightfall and Tara parked her car in front of the open space park. she looked around till a vehicle parked next to her; it was Ki."Hello, little rose."He said, and they entered the park. The moon was about to disappear in another cycle as they walked underneath the trees in the city moonlight. She looked at him and came to a stop.

"I never asked you about the ring. Where did you get it from."She said, grabbing his hand and admiring it.

"It's a family ring; it's a gift passed down in my family." he let his arm go and played with the ring in his hand, twisting it around.

"A Blood Sun ring."-this ring is part of the many vampire courts; they are helpful for vampires to be able to walk in the dun and blend in with other humans."Right, you couldn't have kept that secret for so long."

"Tara, I don't know what you're talking about; a vampire; you think this little ring is a Blood something ring."

"I'm not stupid; when I found my book, it was with you, and everything matched. You said you had family in Europe and. Vampires are very family-oriented. also, your teeth are sharp.

Ki looked at him before laughing, "I knew you were smart, but you caught on that quickly; you're smarter than you led on."

Tara was ready to step back, but he appeared behind her."You are not going anywhere, little one."
