Chapter 41

Chapter 41: Boarding the Ship

        One week later on Domino Pier at exactly 9:15 pm, Tokio arrived in his disguised as Akai Konami. He arrived 15 minutes before 9:30 pm which was the time for the ship to sail to the Duelist Kingdom.

Tokio has come prepared for the Duelist Kingdom. Other than his duel-related things, Tokio brought a lot of things with him.

Currently, Tokio was carrying a super capacity backpack on him full of things that he thought were necessary.

An insect repellent, sunscreen, foldable umbrella, canned foods, biscuits, chocolate bars, snacks, beverages, lighter, first aid kit, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, pillow, flashlight, hygiene stuff, extra clothes, flashlight, towel, binoculars, compass, can opener, cooking utensils, food spices, portable tea maker, etc.

The super capacity backpack is a special item that he bought from the miscellaneous panel of the system. And it also cost a total of 700 points. But Tokio thought that for a menial amount of points, it's the ability to not feel the weight of the backpack and all of the things inside it were amazing.

If Tokio could, he could bring a lot more things like a camp grill, oven, chairs, table, and maybe a very comfortable bed.

But it was a pity that the things that were allowed to store in the system storage are things that were bought or rewarded by the system.

There were still a few duelists who haven't gone inside the ship and we were instead talking to each other on the pier. Some people were already going on the ship.

Tokio couldn't see Yugi and his friends and also the other important characters for this season like Weevil Underwood, Rex Raptor, Mako Tsunami, and Mai Valentine.

Tokio has arrived neither too early nor too late. Just exactly on time in his definition. He ignored the stare of the other duelists and decided to proceed inside the ship.

But then he was stopped by one of the guards.

" Hold up! "

Tokio then showed his gauntlet which has two-star chips. But the guard gestured for his huge backpack and Tokio immediately understood.

Putting it down, Tokio let the guard inspect it making sure that he didn't bring any dangerous things. After a few minutes of inspection, the guard apologizes and lets him go inside the ship.

Tokio saw two random duelists gaping at him like a fish. He notice that they didn't bring any bag or backpack.

Since Tokio knows that they were going to Duelists Island which was located in the pacific, and knows that Pegasus wouldn't give them any food during the preliminaries, Tokio has no plans of starving himself and brought as many things he can with him which he thinks necessary.

Tokio came here to just duel and not live his life like in those survival reality TV shows.

When Tokio arrives inside the ship, he saw a lot of familiar faces. First were his twin cousins who were carrying a backpack with them.

Tokio felt relive when he saw that. It looks like years of teaching them about common sense and games have paid off. Then he saw his leisure club members who were talking to each other, although it wasn't as big as the size of his cousin's backpack, his friends were also carrying a bag of their own.

Yet, he couldn't help but be disappointed with their get-up. They all look like they came out of a cosplay convention.

‘ First of all, Hailey why are you in a classical style maid suit?! You have become obsessed with that Princess TV show too much! ’

And there was Mayumi who was dressed in a shrine maiden (miko) clothes. Tomoyuki was dressed in samurai clothes and even have a fake sword. He also has Nobunaga his parrot on his shoulders.

Isn't he afraid that Nobunaga would fly away?

Finally, there was Risa.

Tokio couldn't help but stare at her for a minute. He then averted his gaze when he felt that he would be noticed if he keep staring at her.

Risa Kageyama is dressed like a witch.  But more than that, her clothes are a little familiar.

Tokio thought that it was a coincidence that Risa's get-up is a little too similar to the ghost trick witch if it weren't for the absence of the big ribbon on the waist part of the clothes and the black cape.

'At least, she has the broom. ' Tokio thought inside his mind.

After observing his friends, Tokio noticed Yugi and Joey. There was also Weevil Underwood, Rex Raptor, Mako Tsunami, and Mai Valentine.

They didn't notice him and Tokio quietly headed towards the back of the crowd. A few minutes later, the ship started to sail and the guards guided the duelists to their room.

When Tokio heard two loud shouts in succession, he knows the culprit was the two blonds, Joey and Mai. They were probably complaining about their room.

He then walked toward the 3rd classroom where some of the duelists were trading cards. Rex who was talking to Mai then stopped and stared at him. Then Joey who was jealous of Rex saw him and exclaimed.

" It's you! "

Tokio inclined his head. Rex Raptor then smirked and said.

" Hey! It's the coward who didn't dare to face Haga! Even if I was defeated, at least I dare to face him. "

Originally, Tokio was planning to give his room to Rex when he was thrown out by Mai. But now, he decided to change his mind.

Seeing his friends, Tokio then took out a writing board and approached one of the guards.

[ Those 3 girls over there, tell them they can stay in my room. It would be inconvenient for them to stay here in exchange, I would just remain here. ]

"... Okay. "

The guard then approached the leisure club. As for Tomoyuki, well, he can probably endure staying in this room.

Seeing what happened, Mai approached Tokio.

" That's sweet and selfless of you, Mister Gentleman. Are you familiar with them? "

[ Meet one of them in the Tournament. ]

After the question, Mai made some small talk before proceeding to go with Rex Raptor to his room and proceed to scam the shit out of him.

Joey then approached him after seeing Mai and Rex walk off.

" So there's a reason why they called you a silent duelist... Anyway, I see none of the use of the cards that you have given to me except Ms.Judge. .. Still, thank you for that. "

[ Your Welcome ]

Joey then grinned after seeing his response, he then asked a question.

" Do you want to trade cards with me Akai? "

[ Unfortunately, there were the 40 card rules and I see no reason to trade cards when I am currently satisfied with my deck. ]

Sighing in regret, Joey then bid goodbye to him and went to trade cards with other people while Yugi was currently accompanying him.

Tokio then went to a vacant side of the Common room and took out one of his sleeping bags, a sleeping mat, and an eye mask. After closing the backpack and placing the sleeping mat and bag, Tokio proceeded to crawl inside it and lay down. He then wore the eye mask and close his eyes.

Tokio has no plan of pulling an all-nighter. Maybe because of the new environment or that Tokio was on a ship, Tokio dreamed of someone dragging him to the bottom of the sea.
