In truth, Fred and George Weasley never planned on coming back to Hogwarts for their seventh year. They've always believed their dreams and futures laid beyond academic achievements, alas they couldn't go against the powerful force that was Molly Weasley. If they were to tell their mother they were planning to drop out, each of the twins could imagine her dragging them towards the Hogwarts Express by the ears.
A good woman, Molly Weasley was.
She was the sole reason why Fred and George found themselves in the same compartment as their best friend, Lee Jordan, on the way to Hogwarts for the seventh year in a roll.
''I'm not even surprised, honestly.'' Lee commented as he watched the twins settle on the seat across from him. ''Knowing your mum, there was no chance you two were going to drop out.''
''Yeah, well, it's fine,'' Fred said, relaxing back in the seat closer to the window. ''This just gives us more time to prepare, you know. There's still some products we need to test out, I reckon the first-years would be great test subjects.''
George laughed, agreeing with his brother. ''Yeah, once they hear we'll pay them, I'm sure they'll be on board, ickle first-years.''
The three fell into silence for a moment. Even though Fred and George had already braced themselves about not returning to Hogwarts last year, it was still rather nostalgic to ride the train together. This time, they knew it was their last time going there, forever.
How the years flew by.
Y/n held her heavy trunk as she moved down the hallway and towards the Prefects carriage. Stella trudged after her, looking through the compartments in search of her best friend.
''Oh, I think I see her!'' Y/n said as she noticed a lone blonde girl sitting in a compartment, holding an upside-down magazine. There was no mistaking her.
''Luna!'' the fourth-year Ravenclaw threw the compartment door open and called our her best friend, who looked up from the magazine.
''Hello there, Stella. Had a pleasant summer?'' asked Luna as she put her magazine down. Then she looked dreamily at the older girl. ''Hello, Y/n. How are you?''
''I'm doing great, thanks, Luna.'' She looked down at her watch and her eyes widened. ''I really have to go, however, or I'll be late. I'll see you two later!'' Y/n closed their compartment door and left her sister behind, glad to be free of the little devil at last.
George looked towards the corridor - the train had left the station a mere ten minutes ago and most people had found compartments to sit in already. He, however, was looking for someone in particular and as she made her way towards their compartment, he beamed.
''Hey!'' He called out, knocking on the window - he was sitting closer to the door - just as she walked past the compartment, which grabbed her attention. ''Oi, Y/n!''
Upon the sight of the twins and Lee, Y/n wasn't sure if she should sigh or smile. Still, she slid the door open, letting herself in the compartment, but not sitting down. ''If it isn't the Weasley twins. I thought you two weren't coming back this year?''
''We came back just for you, L/n.'' Fred winked, causing her to roll her eyes. There was a feeling in the pit of her stomach as she looked at Lee for a real answer.
''Their Mum would've been living if they dropped out.''
Nodding in understanding, she leaned on the door. ''I see. You lot had a good summer? I see you two cut your hair.''
"But we still look just as good, no?" George raised his eyebrows playfully, causing Y/n to snort.
''It was fine, I visited my grandparents, hadn't seen them in a while.'' Lee answered.
