Y/n finished strapping her Quidditch gear on and grabbed her broom from her locker, throwing it over her shoulder. She faced Roger Davies, their Captain, as he stood in front of their newly-formed team; Roger and Y/n were the only seventh-years left, Cho was the only sixth-year, and the rest were fifth-yers Y/n barely knew. They were decent enough, so Y/n believed they had a chance against Hufflepuff.

''Alright, team,'' Roger spoke, grabbing everyone's attention. ''We haven't been a team for long, but we practiced hard! I'm pretty sure Hufflepuff's Captain came here high, so we stand a good chance! If the Slytherins pull something like they did with the Gryffindors, just ignore them! The Quidditch Cup is going to Flitwick's office this year!''

The team cheered at Roger's speech, then he led them towards the entrance to the pitch. Y/n stood next to him, waiting for their call to fly out. Once Lee Jordan announced the Ravenclaw team, all seven of them kicked off the ground and flew up on their brooms.

''Captains, shake hands!''

Roger shook hands with Hufflepuff's captain who really looked woozy on his broom. Y/n thought he was joking about the captain getting high before the game, but maybe that really was the case.

Madame Hooch blew the whistle and the game started with Ravenclaw taking the Quaffle.

''AND ROGER WITH THE QUAFFLE! HE'S ZOOMING TOWARDS THE GOAL AND HE PASSES TO L/N NEXT TO HIM! GO, GO L/N!''

''JORDAN!''

''Sorry, Professor, she's my friend. AND L/N IS NEAR THE GOAL AND L/N SCORES! YES! GO Y/N! 10-0 FOR RAVENCLAW!''

Y/n couldn't help but snicker at Lee's commentary as she flew back to her position. The game continued in that spirit, with Ravenclaw leading Hufflepuff with 90-40.

''Roger!'' Y/n called and held her hand out. Roger threw her the Quaffle before two Hufflepuff Chasers rammed into him. Y/n ignored the situation, flying towards the Keeper and scoring yet another goal.

''ANOTHER GOAL FOR L/N! SHE'S REALLY ON A ROLL TODAY! 100-40 FOR RAVENCLAW!''

''GO, GO L/N!'' Y/n looked towards the two synchronized voices, seeing none other than the Weasley twins yelling once the crowd had quieted down. Y/n smiled as she once again flew back in position.

''LOOK AT THAT! SEEMS LIKE CHANG HAS SPOTTED SOMETHING!'' The whole stadium turned to look at Cho, who was playing cat and mouse with the Snitch. ''WILL SHE GET IT? SHE'S JUST A FINGER AWAY! AND SHE CATCHES IT! CHANG CATCHES THE SNITCH! 150 POINTS TO RAVENCLAW! 250-60 FOR RAVENCLAW! RAVENCLAW WINS!''

The Ravenclaw's burst into cheers upon the announcement. Both teams flew back on the ground and the Ravenclaws gathered in a group hug, yelling at the top of their lungs.

''I TOLD YOU WE'LL WIN!''

''WAS HE REALLY HIGH?''

''HELL YEAH HIS EYES WERE AS RED AS THE WEASLEYS' HAIR!''

''WE HAVE SO MANY POINTS NOW, MORE THAN GRYFFINDOR!''

''WE'RE WINNING THE QUIDDITCH CUP THIS YEAR!''

''GO, GO RAVENCLAW!''

Y/n laughed and cheered along with her team, euphoria filling her. They usually always beat Hufflepuff, but they'd managed to acquire a lot of points this time - she can finally rub it in the twins' noses that they'd won the Quidditch Cup!

''PARTY IN THE COMMON ROOM!'' Roger called out once everyone was changed back in their regular clothes. Upon noticing one team member was missing, Roger called out again. ''Y/N, YOU COMING?''

''I'M STILL SHOWERING, GO AHEAD!''

''ALRIGHT!''

She heard the door close and the place quiet down and let out a relieved breath. She finished her shower quickly, wanting to join the party with her housemates. Her hair was still wet and she'd just put on her blue sweater when there was a knock on the door.

''Uh.'' She quirked an eyebrow. ''Come in?''

The door opened, revealing none other than Fred Weasley, glad in a thick jacket and his red scarf hastily thrown around his neck. ''Hi.'' He closed the door behind himself, not letting the cold get in.

''Fred?'' Y/n stood straighter. ''What're you doing here?''

''George and Lee ran off and Lisa told me you were still here, so I wanted to ask if you wanna walk back together.''

''Oh. Yeah, sure. I just need to dry my hair.''

''Yeah, I can wait.''

Fred sat down on one of the benches, trying not to watch Y/n as she took out her wand and started drying her hair with a drying charm. The way her hair flew behind her, the way her sweater fit on her, just the way she was existing.

Clearing his throat, Fred spoke. ''You were great out there. The way you maneuvered through everyone was brilliant.''

Y/n snorted. ''Thanks. At least I didn't get banned.''

''Shut up.''

Y/n laughed again, her hair now dry. She grabbed her shoes out of her locker and made her way to sit next to Fred to put them on. Once done, she sat up straight and looked at Fred, only to be met with his face about five inches from hers. The two remained silent as they kept eye contact.

''Have your eyes always been so sparkly?'' Fred's hot breath hit her own lips, causing her to shiver internally.

''No idea.'' She breathed out in return. Absentmindedly, her eyes dropped as she leaned in closer. Her lips brushed his and she halted, giving him a chance to escape. A few moments later, his lips were fully pressed against hers.

The kiss was slow. Fred's lips were slightly chapped, but warm. His hand made its way to the back of her head. He pressed his lips harder against hers and a sound escaped her lips, sending shivers down his spine. Giving her one more, long kiss, Fred finally pulled away and rested his forehead against hers, each of them breathing heavy.

This was the best moment of his life. He felt like he could fly up from how light he felt at the moment. It was just he and Y/n - no George and Lee, no Lisa and Michelle, no Kenneth Towler and Umbridge. Just he and she, alone, kissing in the locker room.

''This is wrong.''

''I knew you'd say that.''

Y/n was hurt, but not surprised. Her hand grabbed Fred's wrist, hesitating before pulling it away from her head and standing up. Fred watched her silently as she grabbed her jacket from her locker and putting it on before turning back to him.

''Y/n-''

''I won't tell anyone and it won't happen again.'' Y/n kept her hands in her pockets, feeling her nails digging in her palms. ''We're friends. I understand.''

Friends don't kiss.

''I'm sorry.''

''It's not your fault. I'm just a bad friend.''

Friends don't kiss like that.

''I'll see you later, Fred.''

He could do nothing but watch her walk out the door. He'd just broken Y/n's and his own hearts, and he'd also betrayed George.

What a great wingman he was.
