Y/n was starting to realize she was acting childishly.

It's been a few days since her and Fred's detention with Umbridge and she'd started to actively avoid him again. In that time, she'd had some time to think things through and realized that even though they couldn't be together, she still cared about Fred Weasley and if she could only be close to him as a friend, then so be it.

Yeah, she could live with that. Probably.

''Okay, we're going to Honeydukes first, right?'' asked Lisa, walking between Y/n and Michelle.

''Yeah, yeah, and I need to get a new quill and some parchment,'' Michelle added.

The three girls walked through the courtyard as they made their plan for the day. Y/n nuzzled her nose in her scarf as she listened to her friends, not agreeing with the chilly October weather.

''Remember, we also have to go to Hog's Head later,'' Y/n reminded them and the two girls nodded in agreement. After Fred had told her about Hermione's idea and they'd eaten dinner, she went back to the Ravenclaw Tower and pulled her friends aside, informing them of the plan. They, too, found the idea very appealing.

The three arrived at the carriage point, seeing multiple students waiting in line to make their way to Hogsmade. And yes, Y/n did decide she'd talk things through with Fred Weasley and hopefully remain friends.

''Hey, Y/n!''

She almost cringed as George called and waved at her. As usual, Fred and Lee were at his side, having turned to the girls as well. They were in the middle of the line, waving them over. Making eye contact with Fred, she decided that, no, she was probably not ready to talk yet. Especially not with his brother around.

''Oh, looks like they're calling you!'' Lisa wrapped her arm around each of Y/n and Michelle's, leading them towards the three Gryffindors. Y/n gave Lisa a look of betrayal as both she and Michelle knew what went down with Fred, but it remained ineffective as it was too late to back out now.

''Hey, no cutting in line!'' The six seventh-years turned to look back at the two fourth-year-looking Slytherins.

George redirected his attention to the two boys. ''Hm, or what? Gonna run off and tell Snape? Go on. We'd rather not ride in one carriage with you lot.''

The two Slytherins didn't say anything, knowing they couldn't really do anything to their upperclassmen. Especially not to Fred and George Weasley.

''Anywho.'' George turned back towards the three girls. ''Would you ladies fancy sharing a carriage with us? I promise Freddie will behave.''

Fred shot George an offended look. Before Y/n could protest, Lisa had agreed and now she found herself sitting next to the window with Lisa in the middle. The carriage bench wasn't the biggest, so they barely fit together. To make it worse, the person sitting across from her was no other than Fred, who kept throwing her glances as if she couldn't see him.

Great. Just great.

''Have you heard?'' Michelle spoke as the carriage took off, trying to fill in the silence. ''Apparently Umbridge started visiting teachers during their classes and trying to assess them or something. And she's been calling in students and spiking their tea with Verita Serum.''

''This woman is mental,'' Lee spoke from in-between the twins. ''How does Fudge even allow her to do all of this?''

''I doubt Fudge even knows about it,'' Lisa said. ''It won't be before long before she calls in one of us. And she seems rather hostile towards muggleborns.''

Y/n felt all the eyes in the carriage turn to her. Fred, George and Lisa were all pure-bloods, and Lee and Michelle were half-bloods, which left her as the only muggleborn in the group.
