Between her Head Girl duties, breakfast, and how annoying Lisa was being, Y/n couldn't wait to go to Herbology. It was the class just before lunch, and the class she shared only with Fred - she could finally thank him for reporting Umbridge to McGonagall and Flitwick the night before and saving her skin, quite literally.
''L/n!''
She stopped in her tracks, turning around to be met with Kenneth Towler, her fellow Head Boy. ''What is it?'' She wasn't that fond of Towler, if she had to be honest.
''So, I heard it didn't work out between you and Weasley-''
''There was nothing between me and George.''
''Right.'' Kenneth nodded in understanding. ''So I was wondering if-''
''Kenneth.'' Y/n put her hand up, cutting him off. ''I'm not looking for a relationship. I'm sorry, but it's better tell you the truth than lead you on. Now, if you'll excuse me.'' She felt bad for rejecting him like that, but just being around him gave her the creeps. The less time they spent together, the better.
''What was that about?'' She looked up at the familiar voice, seeing Fred fall in step with her. ''Did he hit on you or something?'' Fred laughed at his own joke.
''He asked me out.''
His laughed ceased immediately. ''What? Towler actually dared to?''
''I mean, I did cut him off before he managed to finish the sentence, but I guess so.''
''If a Bludger hits him our next game, know it was me.''
''He's not even on the team.''
''I know.''
Y/n rolled her eyes as the two entered the Herbolgy classroom and sat on their seats. He's making that friendship thing hard. ''Anyway, I wanted to thank you.''
Fred cocked an eyebrow. ''Thank me?''
''For going to McGonagall and Flitwick about the issue.''
''Oh!'' Fred grinned at the realization. ''Of course. No problem. Everything for my friends.'' Both of them cringed at the word.
Thankfully, Professor Sprout arrived and started the lesson. Y/n had become hyperaware of the nasty stares Kenneth was sending her and Fred's way, making her feel even more uncomfortable. How did Dumbledore think he would be a good Head Boy?
''So.'' Fred turned to her as the two worked on their assignment. ''I suppose you'll be supporting the superior team tomorrow?''
''Hm, yes, the Slytherins have a pretty good line-up this year.'' Fred gave her an exasperated look, causing her to laugh. ''Kidding, kidding. I'm never rooting for Malfoy's stinky ass.''
''That's more like it.'' Fred nodded. ''George will appreciate it.''
Y/n's smile immediately dropped, her eyes falling down to the assignment. ''Yeah, I'm sure he will.''
The cheerful atmosphere had disappeared as quick as it'd appeared.

November proved to be even colder than October and even her gloves, hat, scarf and thick jacket couldn't save her from the cold. Her mother had sent her hand warmers which were doing a decent job at warming up her hands, and she could thankfully use magic to reset them every time they grew cold.
Ah, the perks of being a witch.
''If Slytherin looses I owe Stella ten knuts.''
Y/n's eyebrow raised as Lisa told Michelle her problem. ''Oi, why're you roping my sister into gambling now.''
