Natasha was the one to buy your very first teddy bear. She bought it after her first ultrasound. She was on her way home when she passed a baby store and took a look. She looked through the furniture and baby clothes, they were so tiny it made her heart melt.
At first, she was planning on leaving empty-handed, but then she saw the bear and couldn't resist. Even though you were as tiny as a little bean, it didn't mean she couldn't start spoiling you rotten.
Once home, she hid it. Mainly because she didn't want it to be destroyed before she even had a chance to give it to you. But after a few weeks, she realized it would be fine.
So, it usually laid inside a crib in the nursery and when it wasn't in there, it was either with Natasha or on her bed. She would take it with her everywhere, so it would smell like her when you arrive. No matter what happened, it was always around her.
Natasha decided to take a break and visit her family in Ohio. She had enough of being cooped up in the compound, watching everyone work from the sidelines. Nobody would let her do anything for obvious reasons, and she couldn't argue. She packed her bags and left for her family home, without forgetting the bear of course.
Natasha had a blast to say the least. She loved being reunited with her family, especially while waiting for her little one and loved the excitement in the house. She loved that Yelena would always sit next to her, or lay her head on her lap and start talking about the most random things, or that Melina already had a room ready here with furniture, clothes, and everything in case Natasha decided to come visit.
The bear still followed her everywhere... inside, outside... everywhere. Nobody questioned it though. It was cute to see the scary Black Widow carry a little stuffed bear around.
However, one day, she couldn't find it. It was nowhere to be found. It went missing. She looked everywhere and sneaked into everyone's bedroom while they were out in the city. To say she was mad was an understatement. Everyone knew not to touch the bear. Natasha reminded her family of the risks continuously. So the person who took it was well aware of the dangers that their action would entail.
Eventually everyone came back and Natasha had to stop her search. However, when she walked into Melina's room to ask her if she had seen the bear, she noticed a certain object in her hands. Not the person she expected but okay. She thought it was one of Yelena's stupid jokes to get her worked up or something like that. But no, because here was Melina, sitting against the headboard of her bed, the bear in hand. Natasha was pissed at first but when she walked closer to her mother figure, she noticed something changed. Curious, she snatched the bear from Melina's hands and took a close look at it, at every detail of the assassin's work. She used a blue thread to embroider your initials, but some green, purple, and pink were next to her on the bed. When Natasha looked up from Melina's work, she noticed the older woman looking down at her hands.
"It was meant to be a surprise." The older woman admitted as she looked at Natasha trace her finger over her work with a small smile on her face. Natasha took one of her hands on her own and Melina began to rub her thumb across her daughter's knuckles slowly and frowned when Natasha took her hand away.
"I love it. And I'm sure she will too." Natasha send her a warm smile before looking down and touching her growing belly. "It's gorgeous."
"It'll look better once I finish it though." Melina half-joked. She raised an eyebrow when Natasha didn't hand her the bear. She seemed to take the hint.
"Of course, yeah, right. Here you go." Natasha awkwardly handed the bear back to Melina, secretly not wanting to let it go. She stood there and watched as Melina put the thread back through the eye of the needle without a fuss. She started to walk out of the room when Melina called her over.
"Oh come here big girl." Melina called Natasha and patted the spot next to her. Natasha sat beside her and rested her head on the older woman's shoulder. They sat in silence, Melina continuing her embroidery and Natasha watched, Melina often taking glances at the younger woman. They stayed like this until Natasha fell asleep and Melina finished her work. When she noticed Natasha sleeping, she quietly chuckled and tucked the bear in the younger woman's arms. She lied Natasha down so she was in a more comfortable position and lied next to her. She watched her older daughter's chest rise and fall as she breathed, pushing some of her red hair that had fallen in front of her face behind her ear. Ultimately, when Alexei went up, Melina send him to sleep somewhere else. Where? She didn't care, all she wanted was to enjoy one of those precious few moments she had with Natasha.

bonus scene :
Melina and Natasha were sleepy soundly when Melina felt the bed dip. She opened her eyes to see her youngest daughter climbing into bed with them. She smiled and let Yelena lay down next to her. Melina had a huge smile on her face, looking at her daughters attached to her sides and holding onto her tightly. Natasha was laying on her back with her face tilted towards Melina who had an arm around her to keep her close. Yelena was laying on her side, facing the girls, one arm around Melina's neck and the other one reaching for Natasha and her hand handed up resting on the woman's belly. Melina kissed both their foreheads before falling back asleep.
