Hey darling. It's me, it's mama.

I have never been in love. Never, until I met you. You already make me so happy. I never thought someone could conquer my heart this fast, but here you are. You did it. Not even Auntie Yelena could, and God knows how much I love her.

I'm so excited for your life. I can't wait to celebrate all your accomplishments in the next days, and weeks, and years.

You've already made me adjust a lot from what I used to. I'm not gonna lie to you, I am a bit uncomfortable because I'm so used to my life, and now it's just about focusing on you. Making sure you eat a lot like me, and sleeping a lot... also like me. What can I say? Like mother, like daughter, right?! Isn't that what they say?

It just feels weird to slow down so much instead of thinking of all the plans and things that need to be done. But I'm just focusing on now and on you because it's probably, no, no, no, it is the best thing for you. My life right now is just about you. Before you, life was free. I was careless, my worries seem so small now, looking back. My days consisted of me, doing pretty much whatever I wanted. I was selfish. I could pick up and leave whenever I wanted. I could eat whenever I wanted. My apartment was spotless. Everything was easy. I didn't know what to expect when you came along, I didn't know how I would feel or how you would change my life. But you did. You changed my life for the better and life as I knew it forever. My spotless apartment will no longer be perfect, but it'll be so much warmer. My days will longer and sleep shorter. But holding you and having you fall asleep in my arms gives me more happiness than those full 8 hours of sleep ever did.

You're my favourite person now, so if you find yourself in life questioning my love for you... well, just read those emails. I'm also pretty sure I'm your favourite right now. I swear, you don't want to be anywhere but near me right now. Which I love, don't get me wrong. Your little head is resting on my chest as I'm writing this, but I just wish I could go to the bathroom without you screaming as loud as your little lungs allow you to, you know? But it's fine, you're too cute, I can't be mad at you. I swear I could squish your little cheeks- I'm getting off-topic here.

Because of you, I am no longer selfish. I would give everything I have for you, and I now know the meaning of "loving something more than yourself". The day I became your mama, I loved you more than I could ever love myself or anything else in the world. I would give my own life for you. I didn't know that you would teach me to slow down and truly savour moments with you. You would teach me that our time together is the most important, and everything else can wait. You would teach me that YOU will be the best thing I do in my life. My biggest accomplishment.

You are the greatest gift I have ever received, and I hope you always remember that. Even when I make mistakes, or whatever life throws at us down the road. I hope you always remember that my love for you is infinite and how wonderful life is now that you're in our world.

I promise you, I'll do everything I can to not only to help you survive, but thrive.

I can't wait for life with you, sweet baby girl. I won't always get it right, but I promise to do my best.
