💛Chapter 28💜

It had been two hours. Kaminari was being operated by Chiyo Shuzenji, the personal doctor of the gang, hired by Aizawa. Shinsou had been restlessly waiting behind Kaminari's operation room.

A lot of times nurses had to rush out for blood and other equipments. After almost three hours Doctor Shuzenji came out of the Operation room and announced that the operation was successful.

Shinsou along with the gang members felt relieved. Mina wiped away her tears and asked the doctor about Kaminari's condition.

"Well he was quite lucky as the bullet hit the right side of his chest. He is not steady yet. He might lose his consciousness at times. He seems to have a lot of burns and scars on his body. He seems to be have been subjected to immense torture and pressure. He might suffer breathing problems but I have prescribed all the medicines needed. He needs to stay here for a week so that we can keep him under our constant monitoring. The dressing of his wound needs to be done. He was a quite a fighter back there. This wouldn't have been possible without him trying.", Doctor Shuzenji said.

"Thanks a lot for saving him. I owe you a lot!", Shinsou said.

"It's okay. It's my job and we tried our best. He will recover soon. Do take proper care of him or else I might as well keep him here till he recovers fully. That might take a month or two.", Doctor Shuzenji said.

Shinsou looked down in shame as he nodded. He knew that he should have been with Kaminari. It sickened him to just think of the torture Kaminari had to put up with, but deep down he knew he hurt Kaminari the most.

"Everything will be fine", Todoroki said as patted Shinsou on his back.

It was during the visitor's hours, Shinsou had been going through some papers as he was sitting beside Kaminari. He was browsing through some papers. The papers belonged to the box Kaminari had given. It indeed included all the secrets of the league.

Shinsou was filled with guilt as he saw Kaminari lying beside him on the hospital bed. His skin was more paler than before and he indeed had many scars planted on his entire body. "God! Just what have they done to you?",Shinsou thought.

He kept the papers on a table and went to sit beside Kaminari. He had held his hand and planted kisses on it. "I am so sorry for not believing you... if only I hadn't been in much haste and thought it through you wouldn't have to go through all the pain. I could have kept you safe.... but unfortunately I couldn't...I didn't...", Shinsou said as he held Kaminari's hand tightly.

"Ahem Mr. Shinsou, sorry to interrupt but the visiting hours are over.", Dr Shuzenji said. "Oh I am sorry I didn't notice. I shall leave now.", Shinsou said as he lifted his head. He got up and took the papers. He took one last glance of Kaminari before he left.

It has been a week since Kaminari's operation. He had been slowly recovering. He had regained his senses and refused to talk anyone. He refused to eat or drink and the nurses often pleaded him to listen to them.

Mina used to visit Kaminari regularly along with Shinsou. Mina tried to make Kaminari talk but all her efforts went to vain. Whenever she would accidentally bring up Sero and Kirishima, Kaminari's eyes would tear up but he refused to talk. Mina would leave gifts which would remain untouched just in the place it was last kept. Shinsou was afraid to meet Kaminari. Last time when Shinsou met Kaminari, he was back to his senses and almost tried to kill himself. He had looked at Shinsou with eyes full of hatred and betrayal, the way once Shinsou had looked at him.

Shinsou didn't want Kaminari to hurt himself so he stopped entering Kaminari's room, but he did go to the hospital and took updates on Kaminari's recovery.

"MR SHINSOU PLEASE COME HERE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE", Dr Shuzenji said from other side of the phone.

"What's wrong Doctor? Is something wrong with Kaminari?", Shinsou asked worried.

"The– The patient h-has escaped!", Dr Shuzenji said.

"What?! I will be right there!", Shinsou said panick stricken. He had quickly dressed up and called for Todoroki and Iida. Everyone was shocked at the sudden uproar. After they all heard the news everyone was devastated and panick stricken.

Shinsou drove as fast as possible and reached the hospital. He saw siren lights glowing. "Ah yes obviously she had to call the cops now.", Shinsou thought as he hurried away to the backside of the hospital. He entered through the backdoor and was met by a worried Dr. Shuzenji.

"I am sorry I did not know what to do so I called the cops. I didn't realise that he could actually escape or rather walk in such a condition", Dr Shuzenji said.

"It's okay you did what you could. Have the cops started their investigation?", Iida asked.

"Not yet"

"Well okay can we please check the cctv cameras?", Iida asked.

"Sure this way", the doctor said as she led the way to cctv room.

Todoroki had knocked out the security guard and quickly checked the cctv camera of Kaminari's room. The recording of the whole day was missing. Dissapointed, Todoroki had started to look through the recordings of the other days.

The day before Kaminari's escape, he saw someone enter Kaminari's room. He was shocked to see who it was....
