Third PoV
Cedro crouches down in front of her and takes her hands in his, "how are you feeling?".
Elena shrugs and lets her eyes roam around the office. She can see Matteo, the shadows of some strangers in the doorway and of her brothers. Aside from Ivano.
The only one she would want to be around right now.
Because deep down she knows that he's the only one that won't lie to her. He'll tell her the harsh, ugly truth and leave her to deal with it on her own. He wouldn't try to downplay the issue anymore, which she is sure Santino will once again do.
But she is sick of it now.
The constant lies, secrets and the danger that seems to await her behind every corner ever since she learned about their existence.
"Where's Ivano?" She questions again, retracting her hands from Cedro's and crossing her arms over her chest to deny him access to them again.
She simply doesn't want his comfort or touch when he lies to her once again. She only wants the truth. No matter how harsh it is. She wants to know the truth.
And if they lie to her again, she'll have to uncover the truth beneath their lies herself. And she's sure that they wouldn't appreciate her snooping through their house or even through the office here.
"On his way. He should be here soon." Santino tells tells her. He's looking at her from where he's sitting behind his desk and she wishes that he would stop.
"Do you know what happened?" Matteo gains her attention. She shrugs her shoulders as a reply.
While she does know that armed men broke into their house once again with the intent to hurt one of them - most likely her - she doesn't know why they did it.
"What do you remember, Elena?" The oldest calculatedly questions.
"Do you really think this is the right time to question her?" Marcello angrily asks before Elena can reply to their oldest brother.
Eleonora looks at Marcello and wants to smile at him to show her appreciation but she can't get herself to do it now. Not when she's still overwhelmed with the events that took place and the anger that accompanied it.
If anything, she wants to punch her brothers. Scream at them to tell her the truth and put the blame on them. She wants them to feel guilty for everything that happened. Especially Santino.
He ruined her life with his constant lies and distastefulness about everything that concerned her. Not once did he show that he cares. Instead, he sends Cedro to do it. And should that not be possible, he directly tells her lie after lie as if she is too stupid to create her own truth.
"Yes, Marcello. Now is the perfect time to question her." Santino tells him with narrowed eyes.
The twin rolls his eyes at the commanding tone of voice, "Matteo!" he points at him.
"She most likely remembers everything right now. The longer you wait the more likely it is that she will forget some things. But you should still wait with your questions, Santino. It might be to much for her right now." The therapist says, shooting the oldest two a pointed look.
