Eleonora PoV:

As soon as I opened my eyes I heard voices coming from downstairs. Voices I did not know.

I quickly got out of bed, being as quiet as possible and put my blanket over my stuffed animal and other blanket to make it seem like someone was laying in bed.

I walked towards my bedroom door but suddenly stopped dead in my tracks. The voices from downstairs were a lot closer now. Only a few steps away from my bedroom.

With every step they took, the voices became clearer and had a sense of familiarity. Judging from the dread in my stomach it was a bad sense of familiarity.

Slowly I started to back away from the door to hide in my bathroom, hoping that one of my brothers would come to rescue me but deep down I knew that this would not happen.

The feeling was confirmed once my door got pushed open and I was frozen to my spot, staring right at the intruders in front of me.

There was three of them. They all had a gun in their hand, two of them pointing them right at me. The other one, who was standing between his friends just had a smirk on his face.

That's when realization hit me like a ton of bricks.

I knew them. They killed my mom.

"Look who we have here, boys," the one with the smirk said, walking towards me.

I frantically started to back away from him but my back hit the wall. He got closer until there was no space left between us. His friends followed him and suddenly they were all surrounding me, staring down at me like I was some piece of meat.

"I told you that we would meet again, didn't I, Princess?" a sick smirk was plastered on his face, "and now that I am here, it is time to fulfill the other half of the promise."

Sweat started to form on my forehead and a shiver ran through my whole body.

I thought I was save with my brothers. I thought my bodyguards were supposed to protect me. I thought no one could hurt me here.

But here they were, standing right in front of me with their guns pointed at me.

The boss of the three pressed his gun against my forehead and leaned down so his mouth was right next to my ear.

"Time to say goodbye, Princess," he whispered and pulled the trigger.

I shot out of bed, screaming bloody murder. My whole body was covered in sweat. My sheets and blanket sticking to my body. My breath was ragged. I was frantically looking around my dark room, trying to locate the killers of my mother.

Seconds later my door got pushed open and Dante and Emiliano barged into room with drawn guns.

I let out another high pitched scream at the sight of the guns.

Less than three seconds later all five of my brothers barged into my room, also with drawn guns.

Santino was pointing his gun together with Marcello at Dante, Ivano and Giovanni were pointing theirs at Emiliano and Cedro looked between all of them before tucking his gun into his waistband and walking towards my bed, sitting down at the side closest to him.
