Setting: Hound Pits Pub at the Flooded District, Dunwall, Gristol----
Powder walked the sheets of metal that laid out a path from the tower to Corvo's room, seeing Ekko and Emily scribbling on some paper. "Hey! Anyone seen Vi?" Powder called out, hopping down from the windowsill and walking over to the two. "She's with Mylo and Claggor, I think they're fishing with Samuel." Ekko looked over, sitting up. "When will they let me go fishing with Samuel?" Powder whimpered, crossing her arms. "When you stop raiding my workshop for books." A voice spoke up. Powder, Ekko, and Emily looked over and saw Piero, the inventor of the Hound Pits. Powder saw humor in his beady eyes, no malice or anger. Just paternal amusement. "I'm not mad, kid. In fact, I need you three to help me with something very important." The three perked up, eyes wide in excitement.
Powder, Ekko, and Emily glanced around the workshop, then stood still as Piero came in. "Okay. I need you all to hold your hands out." With mild hesitation, they held their hands out. Powder gasped in excitement as she was handed her Mouser. "I fixed it for you. Just don't shake it or else it'll explode." Piero explained, handing Ekko his pocket watch. It whispered, the voice of a boy about Vi's age spoke quietly to him. "I don't know how it got fixed, but... Corvo will explain it to you, based on the mark on his hand he has some knowledge on the subject." Pierro spoke, Ekko staring at the watch. Emily looked up, waiting for hers. "I know how you, Ekko, and Powder love to play as pirates, so..." Piero placed a rather fancy telescope into her hands. "A captain must be able to see from a distance. Now, I need you all to help me by staying out of my workshop for the night."
The three gave Piero a hug, running off as Samuel pulled the boat in. Vi, Mylo, and Claggor hauled in their catches, Samuel glancing over. "Why if it isn't The Hounds." Samuel greeted, smiling. "Can we play in your boat, Mister Beechworth?" Ekko spoke up, eyes wide in excitement. "Sure you can, just keep it docked." He agreed, leaving to help the other three prepare what they caught and found.

Vi sliced the belly of the fish open, dropping the innards into a bucket. "Why do we have to do this?! Why can't the kids do this?" Mylo whined, grumbling as he sat at the bar counter. "Because you wanted to go fishing." Samuel called out, coming into the room. "Plus, it's your punishment for calling Powder a jinx. If I hear it come out of your mouth again, you'll clean the toilet pots for a month." He added, sitting down. Vi remained quiet, thinking. "Violet, dear, I need your help with something." Lydia called out, Vi glancing to Samuel. "Go help her, kid." He reassured, smiling.
Vi climbed up the stairs following Lydia after washing her hands, shaking slightly in nervousness. "I'm sorry, I needed to talk to you privately... It's about Corvo." Lydia quietly spoke as the two stood in the restroom. She pulled out a letter handing it over. Vi gasped, tearing open the envelope and reading the letter.
Dear Violet,
I hope this letter finds you well. You remind me much of my younger self, back when I lived in Serkonos.
I want to extend an offer to train you in swordsmanship to help defend your family and friends. The Flooded District is a rough place, especially with the plague. If you wish to take this offer, speak with Admiral Farely Havelock. I've watched you train in the back alley, you have excellent form and agility. It will serve you well.Sincerely,
Royal Protector Corvo AttanoVi glanced up to Lydia, eyes wide with excitement. "I need to go accept this! I- Thank you!" Vi quickly hugged the woman, bolting out the room and to Havelock's office. Standing around a desk was the admiral, Mister Pendleton, and Teague Martin. They glanced over, Havelock giving a soft smile. "Hello Vi, Corvo will be with us shortly. He just had to take care of some weepers." He called out, letting the young girl come into the room. "It'll be nice to have some of us trained to know how to use a sword. Especially to protect the children." Teague mumbled, smiling as Vi stood proud. Vi glanced over to the opening door, seeing Corvo Attano. The Terror of Dunwall. He nodded to her, the two headed towards the back alley to train.

"Here she comes!" Emily called out, Powder mimicking the sound of splashing water. "The Hounds will not let the leviathans sink our ship!" Ekko shouted, Powder aiming a stick like a harpoon to the water. With a swift throw, the stick moved a little then stilled. "Powder, did you..?" Emily whispered, confused. Ekko pulled the stick out of the water, the three cheering at the now dead fish. "Powder slayed the terrible beast!" Emily roared. The three brought the fish inside, Samuel glancing over. "Well would you look at that. The Hounds caught a dangerous leviathan." He humored, watching the three stand proud. "And we're going to eat it!" Emily fiercely exclaimed, smiling. "Then it shall be a feast." Samuel grinned, helping them prepare the hagfish.
---
Vi came in, Corvo following behind. Powder, Ekko, and Emily were sitting at a booth in excitement, chattering quietly amongst themselves. "Vi! Vi!" Powder crawled out from under the table, hugging Vi and quickly pulling away. "Ew, you're sweaty." She mumbled, grimacing in mild disgust. "Sorry, we were training." Vi chuckled, grinning awkwardly. "You're lucky they were fake swords." Corvo hummed, patting Vi on the head. "Good job, Little Attanos." He added, continuing to walk away. Vi and Powder glanced to Emily and Ekko. "I have siblings now." Emily whispered in excitement, looking at the three. The platter was placed down, perfectly tender fish. "Eat up kids. Got a big day tomorrow." Samuel whispered, smiling. The four ate, Mylo and Claggor joining Pendleton and Martin by the tower for their supper.
---
Treavor Pendleton sat with the two, all three watching the sunset as they ate. "Why did we get fancy food?" Claggor piped up, Pendleton glancing over. "You work hard, that's very respectable. With my brother's gone, I need someone to pass on the Pendleton name... That's where you two come in." He explained. "Mylo and Claggor Pendleton. Sounds good, right?." He added, taking a sip of whiskey. "Now, eat up. Tomorrow I'll be getting your allowances." Pendleton grinned, seeing the two glance in slight shock. Taken in by an Aristocrat? Mylo couldn't help but grin, Claggor lost in thought about the decision. "What about Powder, Ekko, and Vi?" Claggor piped up, the two glancing to him. "Corvo wouldn't let anything happen to them. He's an assassin, he'll kill anyone who threatens their life."
