🦁 The Visit

Jinx sat in the back of the limousine, kicking her feet as she ate her rice cake while music quietly played on the radio. They were at a Hyper-Drug Industry building, something about a crocodile being rowdy. She wasn't allowed in because the Shishigumi feared they would try to take her. Understandable, more rice cakes for me. She glanced at herself, she had put on some weight. She wasn't scrawny anymore, she was a healthy weight. When they came back in, they drove on to check their elephant tusks. "How did it go?" Jinx questioned, catching Louis' glance. "It went well. They got their product just fine." Louis' voice was smooth as always, like the jazz on the radio.

There was commotion inside the building, Louis glanced to Jinx, nodding a little. "Put on your mask, sweetheart. Time to see what's going on." Jinx smiled at his words, swiftly putting on her mask and walking with Louis into the building. It stunk of raw meat and bones, the sounds of the lions yelling and hitting someone became clearer, then they came into view of their culprit. "Louis?" The culprit whispered. They spoke, Jinx focused on Louis' gaze, seeing it turn to bitterness. "That's enough... I'll find out who he really is." Louis spoke loudly.

"Ah, so you're a masochist!" One of the lions loudly proclaimed, the smell of food filling the room. Jinx had moved her mask to hang from her neck to the side, Louis cutting up a steak for her before handing it back. Not hesitating, Jinx began to eat. The supposed fox stared at her for a moment, confused on who or what she was. "Hello, little girl." He greeted, trying to make himself smaller. Jinx looked at him while chewing, swallowing her bite of steak before speaking. "Hello, Haruo." She gave a small smile and took another bite. "If you don't mind me asking, Boss of the Shishigumi... Why do you have a child amongst your ranks? Isn't it dangerous for her?" He spoke with true worry, to which Jinx stuck her tongue out after she swallowed her second bite.

Louis pulled Jinx close, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. "She's one of us. We care for her as she brings light to our life. Each passing day, she's getting stronger and stronger to take the position of Boss after I eventually pass away." Louis spoke with pride for Jinx, who was staring at him with huge, scared eyes. Eventually pass away rang in her head, hugging Louis tightly. I don't want you to die. You remind me so much of Vi, I can't let you die. She began to sniffle, tears flowing from her eyes. Louis looked down at her, gasping slightly as she began to cry. "Let's get some fresh air, okay?"

Louis never speaks that softly. Legoshi came outside as well, claiming to need fresh air as well. The three of them stood in the warm autumn air, Jinx trying desperately to wipe away her tears. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Jinx whimpered as more tears fell from her eyes. "No need to apologize, dear. You have nothing to apologize for." Louis' voice was once again soft, nurturing. He gently wiped away her tears with his thumbs, smiling. Just as Louis turned to him, Legoshi pulled him into a tight hug, feeling him try to push him off. "I'm so glad you're alive." "Let go of me, you're breaking my back!" Then, Legoshi let go. "Louis, why are you here? We need you back at school." Legoshi spoke up after Louis took a deep breath. "I can't. I'm with the Shishigumi now. I have a child under my wing, I can't just leave her behind. Not when everyone has left her behind in the past, I can't do that to her." Louis proclaimed, grabbing Jinx's hand. "She's our daughter, the daughter of The Shishigumi." Legoshi looked at the child, seeing so much of Louis' spirit within her eyes. A resilience to strive and survive. "Then we take her with us. We can raise her with Haru's help, Jack can teach her how to-" "no." Louis strictly declined the offer, pushing Jinx to be behind him. "I can't, Legoshi. I can't rip her away from The Shishigumi. Free would track us down and kill you with his bare hands." Louis warned. The lions were now outside, all guns pointed at Legoshi.

"Then let me tell you something, Louis." Vi swore she heard a male voice, almost like a growl. She got near the alley, listening. "I found out who ate Tem. It was Riz, and I plan on fighting him." Then, gunshots. Vi shivered, then heard Powder scream. She looked into the alley, seeing what appeared to be a portal. A bipedal wolf fell over the railing, her eyes quickly focusing on Powder. "Powder!" She screamed, running over. Just as she was about to reach the portal, it closed. They at least caught sight of each other.

Jinx's face went pale as she heard Vi's voice, seeing her run towards her. Then, the portal closed. Louis picked up Jinx, taking her back inside. "We need to finish eating. I'll put on the CD for you." He offered, Jinx giving a small nod.

Vi punched the wall, having been so close to getting her sister. But, she now has faces. Louis the Deer, had taken her sister in the name of The Shishigumi.
