Chapter 15 Biography pt.3

Hello once again, I'm back later than usual, Hope you people liked this book so far :)

The picture above is of Vera's first date.

And, This is Vera's Problem, this is where everything happens :) I mean- her hurt, her sorrow, and why & how it was caused are mentioned in this book. She left Barbados 1 day before her b'day btw, On 2022 July 16th...

Let's begin this :)

Veronica POV

I continued crying when I suddenly realized how pathetic I must be looking...

Okay, not a good start. What had I thought when I first saw them? Yes, If not now, then never will I ever confront them, and so, here goes nothing.

I pulled away from Andrea's grasp and sat back. I stopped crying and wiped my tears.

"Then tell me! Why did he say what he did, and why those 2 guys reacted the way they did ?!" I nearly yelled.

"Vera..... Okay, I will tell you. but, do Your friends know your part of the story?" Andrea asked.

I think I told them only half of it. I looked at them and they shook their head.

" You only told us half of it. I think till your birthday... And when a particular Damen asked you on a date and you refused...?" Bree said as realization hit her as the beach Damen could be the same Damen who asked me on a date... she raised her eyebrows and looked at me with one eyebrow raised.

Oh yes. I looked away and nodded slightly.. Then I just knew I had to tell them, 'cos I just could not bear to hear it again and again.

" I will now... sit down.." As I said that, Bree and the rest just sat down and Ace, Rayan, and Jordan just walked away. Andrea sat there and gripped the pillow cover tightly.

I took a deep breath in and relaxed...

Flashback

Life so far was going perfectly actually, I was fine and we all lived in the same house... Life was just.. perfect!

Then- one day, Ace and Rayan were whooping and yelling with happiness and I and Rea were getting frustrated when we knocked on their door, they looked at us and Ace gripped me on the shoulder and Rayan gripped Andrea's, And they yelled loudly, SO loudly, 

" DAMEN'S GOING TO BE OUR NEIGHBOUR !!! "

I and Rea just looked at each other, What? And whO?

Okay wait- I said that out loud.....

" DAMEN'S OUR BEST FRIEND AND ONE OF THE BEST FOOTBALL PLAYERS ON OUR TEAM !!"

Ace and Rayan yelled loudly together, and I wouldn't have understood if I wasn't used to them talking like that ... ALL THE TIME!

I knew Damen, but not that well, and yeah, I may or may not have liked him a bit.

I'm not mentioning that to anyone of course...

Me and Andrea just rolled our eyes and walked out. What a fuss over a guy... And yuh-

It had been a few days since that incident and-

And then, Damen moved in next to us...

Things were fine for a week, he was over almost ALL THE TIME. He even ate Lunch and sometimes even dinner with us!

Not that anyone had a problem with him, All our parents warmed up to him and his parents real quick anyway.

And slowly, a week became a month, but ofc, now that they were settled he wouldn't OFTEN come over for Lunch or Dinner. Around once a week or so when his parents hadn't come home yet from their work.

And one day, It was the night and all of us were in Ace's room, even Damen, only my brother, who'd gone over to his friends for a sleepover wasn't there.

And then we decided to watch a movie and so Andrea, Rayan, and Ace went down to get something to eat while I stayed to start up the TV and the movie.

And then, me and Damen started a random conversation, and suddenly, he said,

" Vera, I've been wanting to ask you for a long time, and I did before, but you said no, so Imma ask again, ..........."

I nodded as if to tell him to continue, and I wasn't even looking at him.

"'Will you go on a date with me ?"' He is straight-up shot out.

I was nervous, 'cos I wasn't so sure, but- I did like him, and well- I've never been on a date soooo this would be my 1st one, so why not?

And ofc, I said yes, and after we enjoyed our first date, we went on more, and one day, he asked me to be his girlfriend, to which I said yes !!
( I regret that right now, okay?)

And then- as we started spending more time, Ace started dating the school queen bee, Jacqueline, and the distance between him and me just got farther and farther...

And slowly, just when I thought mine and Damen's relationship was going good, we went on a date, on which he started acting rough, he'd constantly go on his phone as if he was bored AF...

And he'd snap at me if I waved my hand at him to ask him if he was listening to me at all. 

At usual times, he would never answer my phone calls, 

This kept happening every time we went on dates together, and then- one day, I gathered up all my courage I had to confront him about his behavior and went to his house, I knocked on his door and waited for him to open the door and as I walked around and looked out only to see Damen, sitting there with a girl ON HIS LAP !!

I knew something was up and hurried to the front door and rang the bell thrice, and when he finally came in the house from the back and opened the front door and I had nothing to say except, 

" I hate you and. I'm breaking up with you"

I walked away from there, ignoring all his yells, 

I blocked his number on my phone when he called me multiple times, I locked my door when he came over, I only came out for school and meals, and I only just cried myself to sleep every night...

And then, that was when all the drama started...

I had to go through hell every single day after that because Damen had a lot of followers with his popularity. I eventually found out that an accidental kiss between me and some other football team captain was taken a picture of, and it circulated throughout the entire school. Damen had used that picture against me and made everyone believe that I was the one who broke up with him.
