6. One more dead end

Alador woke up in the middle of a forest. Abomination goo surrounding him.

His arm didn't hurt anymore. The lights going into the sky were nowhere to be seen.

They've made it, he thought.

He tried to get up, but he was tired. Tired because of the draining spell and tired because he fought a whole army if abominations single handle.

So he decided to rest a little before going anywhere.

It was daytime already, he noticed. So he must be out all night, at least.

"Alador!" He heard a female voice call his name. He was quite certain he recognized the voice, but another sound interrupt his thinking.

"Dad, where are you?!" This time, it was a male voice who call for him, Edric.

"Mr Blight, are you ok?" Another female voice he didn't recognize.

"I'm here" He shouted, or at least he tried, but it came up as a whisper, "here..."

After a couple minutes three teenagers appeared a couple metres away from him.

They were Edric, Emira and another girl he didn't know.
The girl were wearing a Hexside uniform with dark blue pants and brown sleeves. Her brown hair was in a bun. And in her ear...was that a hook? That was weird.

The latest girl approached him and leant to look at him carefully.

"Are you ok, Mr Blight?"
She said as she healed some of Alador's wounds.

"Yes. In just a bit tired. And I don't feel strong enough to get up. But I'll survive" He answered rubbing his head.
He looked at the girl, "who are you?"

The girl raise her head to look at Alador, "I'm Viney, a friend of your children" a welcome smile showed in her face

Eric looked around his father, to all the abomination goo and broken trees.
"Wow, you sure know how to wreak havoc" He said grinning, impressed at the view.

Emira looked at her father before looking at her brother, "that's not what is important right now, Edric"
She said with the more serious expression Alador had seen her daughter since ever.

She place a hand on Edric shoulder, "remember what we were doing"

At this statement Edric's face fell. He look seriously into her sister's eyes and nodded "you're right, Em"

They both turned to look Alador in the eyes.

"We're is she?" Edric asked dejected.

Alador blinked a couple times, "where is who?"

"Where is my sister, Alador?!" Emira jumped towards him, raging.

The other girl stood between her and Alador, "Emira, wait, don't..." She tried to calm down the furious girl.

Edric took her hand in the same attempt, "Em, dad isn't alright right now, don't overwhelm him"

"You're looking for Amity?" Alador said, trying to understand what was happening.

"Yes" Emira said, more calmed but still dead serious, "Mom said that you took her. You stole a ship and the emperor's coven was behind you! So we track down the failing ship looking for you both" Emira said pointing to the failing ship that could be seen in the far distance.

"Yes, I run away with Amity in a ship. But after we crash Amity and her friends went to the head of the titan to save Luz and stop the draining spell" Alador explain to his children as he got up with Viney's help, "and if the spell has stop is because they succeed, right? They made it" He though out loud.

"Dad..." Emira said downcast.

"Dad, listen" Edric interrupt her, "That was almost a whole day ago. We've heard that Belos is gone, dead. We don't even know if the coven heads are alive!" He said, shaken, "People that have come from the head said that everything is chaos. The head of the Titan has been destroyed itself!"

He stoped, seeking the strength to continue, taking a big, deep breath before speaking again.

"You...Amity being with you was our last hope of finding her, hoping not to find one more dead end," the emotions in his voice could be feeling by everyone, "but she was there with her friends...if she was in the head, that means..."

He broke down and couldn't keep talking, falling to the ground, holding his face between his hands.

Meanwhile, Emira tried to grab her father once again, Viney preventing her to do so by taking her hands.

"Dad..." Viney started, "...where is Amity?"

Alador raised his gaze, looking for the first time to the Titan's head with a sorrowful expression.

"I don't know..." His dreary voice said, "I don't know where she is. But we'll find her" a determinated expression took over his face, "I swear we'll find out where she is"

If not, don't worry, I'll come up with something. In fact, I've planned like what the next two chapters are gonna be about, but there's still a lot of things to settle down.
