"BYE! SEE YOU AT the rally!" Jayden smiled and waved at the two young adults before turning and leaving their sight.
"To the gym everyone!" A teacher yelled which caught Jayden's attention. She hugged her book to her chest as she walked through the sea of people when she bumped into someone. "Fuck, I'm sorry." Her book slipped from her hand and down onto the concrete floor.
Jayden looked up to see Max who was taking headphones off her ears. "Max, hi." She said nervously. Max lightly smiled, happy to see Jayden. "Hi." She replied.
The moment was ruined by the schools councilor coming up to the two. "Max! Jayden!" The women exclaimed a bit to cheery. "Can I talk to you?" She motioned to the red-head.
Jayden nodded. "See ya." She waved before turning around, walking towards the school.
Even the two seconds of speaking made her nervous. She hated it.
The sounds of trumpets and flutes filled the brunettes ears as she entered the gym where the cheerleaders where flipping, the band was playing, and the bleachers held rows of teenagers.
Jayden squeezed through the groups of students to get to Mike and Dustin who were arguing about their girlfriends.
"Look, I'm not saying that my girlfriend is better than yours." Dustin yelled over all the screaming. "It's just that Suzie's, like, a certified genius." Mike crossed his arms over his chest. "You do realize El saved the world twice, right?" He countered. Dustin paused. "And yet you still have a C in Spanish."
"Didn't Suzie also, like, save the world by telling us Planktons Constant?" Jayden asked as Max walked over and stood beside her. Mike pinched her arm. "You weren't supposed to remind him of that." Mike wined. Jayden mocked him. "Boohoo, suck it up."
"You two fight like siblings." Max mumbled while crossing her arms over her chest. Jayden looked down at her and smiled, somehow Jayden had grown at least four inches taller than Max, she took pride in that.
