"Hey, where have you been lately?" Nicole asked.

"Busy with something."

"Are you going to tell me what?"

"No."

Jesse turned her head looking back out the car window as the trees went by. She had missed this. Nicole had been let go, but the husband of the woman they were protecting insisted that Nicole was the only one to guard her.

'She'll guard his wife. Right into bed. Nic's always been lucky like that.'

Jesse's phone rang pulling her from her thoughts. "Hello Officer Stevens speaking."

"Jesse?"

Jesse felt the rush of blood through her ears. "Hey! How are you? Are you ok?"

"Yes. Yes, I'm fine. I was calling to see if you wanted to meet up."

A long silence filled the air.

"You don't have to. I just finally wanted to talk. About what happened after we ended."

"Yeah. Yeah, of course."

"If you're busy-"

"No, just taking Nic to work."

"Oh. Well can we meet at Mount Trashmore?"

"Yeah. I'll be there in 15 minutes."

"That's perfect. Bye."

"Bye."

Nicole looked at Jesse. "A booty call. Wow your busy."

"Nic, it's not even like that. I'm meeting a friend."

"Sure. Whatever you say."

Jesse wanted to be mad, but Nicole was right. Since she had (in reality Athena had) broken things off, she'd sleep with any woman that showed interest. However, the amount had diminished over time. She had regulars, girls that thought they were the only one. Most couldn't even hold descent conversations. She was willing, no she was going to, change all of that to be with Athena. No matter what.
***************
Jesse parked her truck by the Kid's Cove at the city park. She pulled out her phone calling Athena.

"Hey, J are you here?"

Jesse smiled. Athena hadn't called her that in years. "Yup. I'm over by Kid's Cove and the skate park."

Athena looked from where she was sitting. She saw Jesse and walked. "You look out of place."

"And how would you know. I can't even see you."

"That doesn't mean I can't see you." Athena's voice held a flirtatious tone.

"How do you know that?" Jesse asked looking around.

Athena waited and snuck up behind her tapping her shoulder. "Because you would have seen this."

Jesse jumped. "What the- Athena Sofia Papadopoulos!"

"Awe was the big bad officer scared?"

"What? No. I could have hurt you."

"Sure you would."

They shared a laugh. Somewhere, a set of eyes watched their encounter. Tiny legs sprang into action. "Mommy, who's this?"

Jesse felt shocked but hid it from her face well. "This is mommy's friend Jesse."

The little boy walked up to Jesse. "My name's Jessie too." He beamed. "Mommy says it's a special name for special people like me. Are you a special people?" He asked.
