Quackity walked into the castle, surprised to see the lack of guards roaming the grounds. There was also a lack of servants. No maids or butlers were wandering around, not carrying around fresh laundry or flowers from the outside gardens. He continued to walk around the castle, looking for the brunette monarch.

Quackity finally reached the living quarters, seeing no guards watching over the doors of Eret's bedroom. His face faltered as he saw the sun start to set and he made the decision to knock. There was no noise coming from the other side of the door, causing him to worry. "Eret?" he asked, knocking again. "Hey, I know I'm not the guy you want to see right now but Puffy's worried. She says she hasn't seen or heard from you since she sent her letter. And I don't see servants or– or guards, I'm worried." He waited for a few seconds and when he heard silence, he tried the doorknob. The door opened. Light entered the dark bedroom and Quackity walked in.

If Eret heard or saw Quackity, she made no indication. Quackity sat moved towards the bed, lit the lantern on the nightstand, and sat on the blanket-covered mattress. "Eret?" he asked and Eret shifted a bit. Quackity let out a small sigh. "At least you're alive." Eret pulled the covers closer to her face. Quackity placed his hand on her shoulder and started making little circles with his thumb. There was a sniffle, then a choked-out sob. He continued to rub her shoulder and she made no move to show the other her face.

It took about ten minutes of rubbing circles and stifled sobs before Eret rolled over to see Quackity. He softly smiled at her but she hid her face in her pillow. Quackity began to rub her other shoulder. "Uh, Puffy sent me a bird saying how she worried she was about you and asked me to check up on you," he started his mini tangent, "and to my surprise when I noticed the lack of guards and servants. I started to get worried whenever I didn't see guards posted at your living quarters– uh, is it your bedroom? I think they're the same thing. Anyways, I knocked, you heard me knock and I got concerned. No answer and I opened the door, it was unlocked. Puffy would be scolding you about leaving your door unlocked without guards but I'm not Puffy, so no scolding today." Eret was silent and Quackity moved his hand off her shoulder. The brunette moved her blanket to compensate for the lack of warmth on her shoulder. "Please say something." Quackity frowned, moved the blanket down some, and began to rub her shoulder again. Eret hummed as a way to tell him she was still awake. He hummed back, his voice making his pitch higher than hers.

"I'm gonna sit up," she said after a few minutes of silence. Quackity hummed and got off the mattress. Eret moved the blanket and began to get up. She got into a sitting position, back to the headboard and pillows under and around her. "You can sit back down now." She patted the spot in front of her. She wore a simple white shirt with sweatpants and some silver jewelry. She reached under the blanket next to her as Quackity sat in front of her. She pulled out a red cape with white fur lining the hood and the cape's hem. She placed it around her shoulders and wrapped it around herself.

"Is that Techno's?" he asked as Eret took in the scent and she nodded. He frowned. "Are you doing okay, Eret? I didn't know you and Techno were that close." Eret gripped the cape tightly, a small frown on her face. She opened her mouth, only to close it. It was obvious there was an answer formulating in her head. "Technoblade and I," she licked her lips, "were? We're family. He's my uncle and we reunited back in Pogtopia." Quackity's eyes widened just a tad. "My mother is his sister. Only a selected few know, and you have to promise not to say anything Quackity." Her saddened gaze turned into an angry one. He nodded. Her face saddened more. "Puffy helped my mom adopt me, so she knows and Foolish knows as well; he was close with my family, along with Phil and Halo. I guess Sapnap counts since he's Halo's son and all."

"Wait–" Quackity shook his head, "Techno's your uncle, and like six different people knew about it?" She nodded. Quackity frowned. "Were you two close?"

"Yeah," she began to play with the fur. "After getting reunited in Pogtopia, we ended up pretty close. I don't remember anything before L'Manburg, so Foolish and Tech filled in some blanks for me. My mom was sixteen when she first adopted me and I left the castle at nineteen with Foolish. Tech recognized me and reunited with me. He would send me recipes from our home and have tea with me once a week. Puffy and the others taught me about the culture of our home. Techno did the best he could and eventually, right before the Red Banquet, I met Eros." Her breath shuddered and Quackity leaned his head forward ever so slightly. "I met my mom. She's blonde, blue eyes and the sweetest smile. The first thing she did whenever she saw me was give me a hug. She was so proud of me and told me that she loved me. I couldn't believe I met my mom and she was exactly like how Techno and the others described." Quackity subconsciously smiled.

"You sound happy," he commented. Eret nodded.

"I was glad to have met her."

"I have a question."

"Shoot."

Quackity took in a deep breath. "You kept mentioning your home but you never specified what your home is. And you mentioned a castle..." The words failed on Quackity's tongue.

"I was born in the Overworld, raised in the Underworld," she muttered. "Eros was also born in the Overworld, raised in the Underworld. Tech was born to human parents in the Nether, but adopted and raised in the Underworld under the Goddess of Death."

"So that makes all three of you–?"

"Watchers of the Underworld."

Quackity faltered. "Is he going to get a proper burial? Like, is there any sort of ritual or– or a process of how a Watcher gets buried?" Eret looked up, surprised at the male's question. "You're not questioning how Puffy or anyone else may or may not know about our status?"

"I'll ask you about that later but do you know if Techno will get a proper burial?" Eret shook her head.

"I would have to ask Puffy."

"Let's give Techno a proper burial, Eret," a soft smile danced on Quackity's lips.
