"Kaito!" Shuichi and Maki yelled at the same time, as they each grabbed one of the Ultimate Astronaut's arms.

"God, he's completely passed out," Maki said, examining his face. "It must be his stupid illness--it's getting worse. Argh, I told him not to exert himself! C'mon Shuichi, we need to get him back in bed."

As the trio half supported, half carried Kaito back to his room, Kaede was filled in on the supposedly very serious illness that Kaito was struggling with. "The idiot won't let anyone help him," Maki pouted. "He's like, 'a hero needs to be there for his sidekicks!' and runs off to do pushups or situps or whatever when he should be in bed,"

"I thought he wasn't looking very well," Kaede mused. "During the Class Trial, remember? He was in really bad shape, everyone thought it was because he was lying! Other than that, I'm pretty sure I saw blood coming out of his mouth once or twice-"

Like on queue, Kaito woke up and started aggressively coughing blood, a lot more than I had ever seen.

"You need to hold on, Kaito," Maki said, voice filled with a gentleness I never thought I would hear from her. Yet, there was a twinge of sadness in there as well, like she really didn't want to see him suffer. Who knew the two of them were an unofficial couple? "We'll reach your room soon, and you can take a break there."

Kaito seemed too dazed to listen, much less argue. Maki and Shuichi took advantage of his silence--Kaede supposed he had rebuffed attempts to be assisted before, but now he really wasn't in the shape to do that.

They finally reached their destination, and Shuichi pushed open the door. Maki single-handedly dragged Kaito onto the bed and drew a chair right next to him.

"We need to get him out of here and to a hospital soon, or he really isn't going to last long. The last motive probably didn't help, with the temperature changing like crazy and the stress and all that," she muttered.

Just at that moment, both Korekiyo and Kirumi walked into the room, looking very disgruntled.

"What the hell did you do?" Korekiyo asked, putting his arms on his hips and clicking disapprovingly.

"What do you mean, what did I do? Why are you two here?" Kaede threw her hands in the air.

"The self-proclaimed leader of the Atua Student Council has been knocking on our doors and leering at us for forming what she calls an 'unholy student resistance'. She has promised that war will come tomorrow morning. How does she even know about the Athena School Council?" the zipper on Kiyo's mask turned down slightly, like he was frowning.

"We...sort of bumped into each other. I don't think that she liked the idea of us disobeying curfew." Shuichi said.

"Less about that, come help me here!" Maki yelled in near desperation. Kaito had woken up, but he looked awful. His forehead was a sickly purple color, barely differentiable to the color of his hair. He had broken into a cold sweat. Blood was consistently trickling from his mouth to his chin now. Strangely enough, when Kiyo saw him, he turned a light shade of blue. Kirumi, the always experienced maid, immediately went into nurse mode.

"How long has he been like this?" she touched his forehead. "It seems like he's running a fever. I don't recall seeing any medication in the warehouse, and there isn't an infirmary in the Ultimate Academy, so we're going to have to improvise somewhat. I will go find something that might help."

"I'll go with you. It might be dangerous if you go on your own, with Angie stalking the halls with a vicious vengeance," Shuichi got up, and the two of them left Kaito's room.
