Lockwood's POV

"You? But I don't even know you!" she exclaimed, breaking my already broken heart to even smaller pieces.

"Yeah, but you used to know me. And we used to have something between us before," I said bluntly. Will she remember?

"So.. You were my boyfriend or something?"

"Something.. Something like that," I managed to say.

"This is crazy," she said, exasperated. "How am I supposed to remember something I haven't even done, in my opinion?"

You have, I wanted to say. You loved me.

Note the past tense.

"Oh wait... What's your name?" she asked me. I momentarily closed my eyes.

Sure, she didn't know who I was.

But I didn't know that she didn't even know my name anymore.

"Just call me Lockwood," I said.

It was a start.

----------------------

"Nice house," she commented. "So what's my room?"

"Upstairs, first door on the right," I mumbled.

"Thanks," she said.

"Your things are there," I said.

"Yeah.. I know," she said.

There was an uncomfortable silence between us.

Impossible.

That would have never happened if it were the past.

Lucy and I would be talking nonstop.

But it's not the past, Lockwood, a part of me nagged.

Shut up, brain.

"So.. I'll be going up."

"I'll call you when dinner's ready," I said.

As soon as she was out of sight, I collapsed onto the couch.

I barely held in the urge to press her against the wall and kiss the living hell out of her.

I miss the feel of her lips against mine.

This had to be one of those sick jokes.

A dream, where I would wake up and find out it wasn't real.

I wish.

But it wasn't.

It was reality.

Lucy had amnesia.

I had come to accept it.

She has amnesia, and she doesn't know me.

All she knows is Scorpius.

At least, I was going to try to make her remember.

"George?" I asked. George has been like a living dead, the same with me.

"Huh?" he asked.

"Dinner is Lucy's favorite, baked scones with butter and jam and tea."

"Dinner?" he asked. "That's more of breakfast,"

"Yeah, but I'm trying to make her remember."

"Okay then,"

End of conversation.
