Chapter 16: Guess What? A Transition

The day went off to a weird start. I currently find myself at HoloHQ, in 'The Office'...in the middle of a praise circle. Generations 2 and 3 were all on the floor, worshipping me. But why me? "Oh great Sutōkā," they all said occasionally. I had asked them to stop but they didn't listen, so I just let it happen.

Flashback
10 minutes prior...

I just got out the elevator, making my way to Yagoo's office. I knock a few times and enter. The sight I witnessed was something unusual. He was there, crying as he danced around in front of his table. I didn't know what to say. "What...?" I said out loud, contradicting myself yet again. This got his attention, stopping to turn in my direction. He made a happy noise as he sprinted upto me, hugging...me? "Sutoka!," he exclaimed with joy. "I knew I could count on you." I knew he had faith in me, but that's just a mistake. "Why, what did I do this time?" Then, a phone was shoved in my face, YouTube was open. Okay let's see, my channel looks alright. 7 videos annd 29 million subscribers. I didn't know you needed skill to gain subscribers. "When did that happen?" I ask. He didn't give me an answer, instead continuing to dance around like a crackhead. I didn't want to be here anymore, so I back away at a normal pace. I left the door open so I walked out. Unexpectedly though, I bump into someone - no, two people. Turning around, I was met with 10 of my fellow Idols. They all had smiles on their faces and stars in their eyes. This can't be good.

End Of Flashack

I'm still in the middle of this circle...can I go now? All of a sudden, the door bursts open, revealing an ecstatic GawrGura. Wait- I thought she left yesterday. "Wait, I thought you left yesterday." Hey that's what I said..."I'm leaving in a bit," she sorta explained. "I'm gonna give ya a hug before I do though!" Now there's a happy shark, running sad leaping towards me. She tackles me, I could have dodged but that'll mean someone else may get hurt. Though I fell down onto of Mio, she wasn't hurt which was nice. Now I'm on the floor, being embraced by a shark. Weirdest thing that's ever happened to me, well until that eventually changes.

"Welp, I gotta get going," she said, walking towards the door. I was up on my feet, even the circle sorta disbanded. The girls though just sat on the floor in a large group. "See you next week then." I waved, so did Gura. She leaves a moment later. I take a look at my phone, going to and looking at my channel. "29 million, huh." Is this was being popular feels like? Because I don't feel anything at all. Then an idea popped into my head. "Gotta go." I say, walking away from the girls. "WAAIT!" I stopped, turning to look at the Pekora. "I want a hug too-peko!" She then, shockingly, wrapped her arms around me. The other saw this and thought "Hey...I want a hug too!" Now they're all coming after me, arms opening up.

I'm now outside the building, standing on the sidewalk. To my left is the city of Chūo, I think that's what it's called. And to my right was still Chūo but not much buildings, just a stretch of road. A deep breath later, I take a left. As I entered the city, it was quite busy. Cars and people everywhere - my worst nightmare. I had to keep it all in a ball for now, just for a while. A few minutes later, this happens. "Hey!" I hear someone call, but I kept walking since they could be calling someone else?. "It's Ochitsu Sutōkā!" That got my attention, so I turned around, looking confused. A man walked upto me, early early 20s. Brown hair with dark eyes, much taller than me and equipped with a piece of paper and a pen. "Can I have your autograph?!?" I have a feeling this would be a reoccurring question, but for now I signed his paper, writing "Justa Stalker" on it. My handwriting was pretty good, cursive as well so it stands out. After that, the guy looked at me with a large smile. Though, his eyes narrowed from me to something behind me. His mouth widened as he said this. "Lapus too?!? Is this an event or something?" Lapus? Who's name is that? I turned, only to be confronted by someone else, a girl with very outlandish features. Extremely long white hair with a purple streak. Yellow eyes with black and purple attire. She looked at me with her hands on her hips. "Greetings, Ochitsu Sutōkā," she said. Her tone was like that of a king or something. "I've come here to ask you something. Follow me." This girl then directed me in a direction that lead to an alleyway - pretty normal so far. We stopped a ways in, then turned to me and continued. "I'd like for you, Ochitsu Sutōkā, to join me and my associates at 'HoloX', simply as a security guard." Alright, what's going on? "Elaborate." I was supposed to sound confused, but I ended up saying that in a cold tone. This made the girl shutter silently, clearing her throat once she found her nerves. "My friends and I would like you to join our group." I think I understand what she's tryna say. "You want to be friends? Is that what you're asking?" I could be imagining it, but I could swear there's a shadow over her eyes. After a minute, she broke the silence. "...yes."

18 minutes later...

There we were, sitting inside a cafe, just drinking some tea. Her name was Lapus, which was a pretty cool name now that I think about it. On our way over here, she explained that her group of friends are apart of a secret society, or so they say. Referred to as 'HoloX' gives me a hint that they may be apart of Hololive, but I need more evidence. How obvious can my sarcasm be? "So," I start off. "What is HoloX's goal?" I ask this since she never really told me, or hinted towards it at all. Lapus gave me a conflicted stare, like she didn't plan that far ahead. "We're not exactly sure," she stated. "But our temporary goal is to have fun." Lame. I squint hard, taking a sip of my tea. Tastes good. "Okay. So where are the rest of your friends?" "Making their way to HQ as we speak." Oh, cool. At least I can go see what they look like. "What do you wanna do now?" I didn't have any plans, and if I thought of any, they'd just be video games. The girl looked down at her cup, thinking of something we'd both probably enjoy. A moment later, Lapus looked upto me. A smile appeared.

14 minutes later...

There I sat, on a bench some feet away from the slide in which Lapus slid down. The girl giggled like a little girl, maybe she is a little girl. Either literally or at heart, she's the same as a child. We were at a playground, because where else would have a slide - don't answer that. "How much longer?" I call out, asking the girl. "Two more hours please!" A sigh left my mouth. It's what, noon? It'll be annoying, but I guess I'll have to sit here for two more hours.

Twelve minutes in, I hear someone call me name - it wasn't Lapus. "Sutoka?" I turn to see who it was. To my surprise, it was Shion Murasaki, on a bicycle with a sun hat. "Yeah?" "Why are you at a playground?" I point behind me, making Lapus' presence known. The witch had a look of understanding, at the same time trying to hold in her laughter. Shion hopped off her bike, walking over to the bench. "How have you been?" What kind of question is that? Everyone knows who I've been. "Confused." I say plainly. "The sudden popularity growth?" Right on the money, I nod in confirmation. "Welp," she started off. "I'm sure it's no problem for someone like you." 'Someone like me?' What does that mean? "But, if it is effecting you in some bad ways, don't ignore it." I blink twice. "Wow. Such helpful advice that I need," I tried my best to make the sarcasm known. "I'm serious." Her voice went a bit stern. All I did was shrug my shoulders. "Hey," she caught my attention. "Do you like horror games?" She's getting at something. "If it's scary, then sure." A sinister smile appeared on Shion's face. "Is the day after tomorrow a good time for a collab?" I take a moment to think. Yeah, I had two streams after noon so it's good. "Yeah. As long as it's before noon." The witch hopped onto her feet after I had said that. "Okay!" She said. "It's a date." That was all she said before returning to her bicycle, ultimately leaving the scene. That's another collar added to the nonexistent list. Wait...what did she sa-
