Chapter 38: I Got My Package In Less Than 3 Months

The next day, me and Botan were both nearing the end of our struggles. Today is the day we buy our guns, but we can't take them home immediately after. We need to wait either a day or a few weeks. Why? Because the process is unnaturally slow, but still extremely thorough. I had picked her up 5 minutes ago, so we can go make our choices together. "Almost done," she assured me. "Surprised it didn't take 3 months." "Maybe it's because we're responsible, law-abiding citizens?" I chuckled, but I agreed with a nod.

Our destination was Shibuya Firearms, fitting name. It didn't take any time for us to get there, but I did go over the speed limit so that's something. Anyway, me and Botan stepped out of the car, locking it immediately afterwords. "It doesn't look like we can get modern weapons here." I tilt my head, turning to face her. "What makes you say that?"

"The store looks like it was made in 1995." She got me there, but listen to this. "Most of the modern weapons we know and love were made before the year 2000, so we should be...alright." I trailed off, why? Because I saw someone inside the store. I'll give you 3 hints...time's up. "Gee, I wonder why you're here!" I had to shout slightly to get her attention. When she saw me, she did look quite surprised. Stepping out of the store and into frame, it was Shion Murasaki. "What are you two doing here?" She asked, looking up at Botan as well. "Same reason why you're here, to buy guns." Mhm, mhm. With that being said, she took us inside. We exchanged what we're gonna get, Shion came for a shotgun. In her words, "I did my research, and found out that the Mossberg 590A1 is the beat for self defense."

Once we were all in the store, we split up to look for our respective choices. The store itself looked pretty large, since I saw like 8 isles full of stuff. But each time I walked through them, I saw nothing I was looking for. We met up at the back of the store, where a metal door that said 'Employees Only' stood. "Soo..." I started off. "Anything...?" Then Botan. "Nothing..." Shion sighed in defeat. "And you said there were modern weapons here?" "You and I both saw that R700, don't give me that." We were about to start debating on whether to go to another store or stay here but something cut us off, the door opened. Stepping out was an adult man, roughly in their early 40's, brown hair with green eyes. "I couldn't help but overhead you ladies are lo-" He cuts off, but he's looking at me. "Y-you'rw Ochitsu Sutōkā!" I gave him a thumbs up, along with a whacky smile. "We're looking for self-defense weapons, modern ones if you have those," Botan stated. After about a minute of silence, the man came back to his senses. "My name is Tomo, Tomo Renko - the owner of this wonderful store." He stepped aside, allowing us to enter this mysterious room. He went onto telling us about his children, mainly about how they aspire to be Vtubers when they grow older. He had a son, his name was Tojou, and he apparently wanted to be like me, since he liked all-things military and guns, and stuff. I found it nice that someone wants to be like me specifically, I really did. We arrived in a dark room, appears the lights are turned off. "Ah, let me turn the lights on." Tomo said. As he went over to touch the light switch, I looked over at Botan. "Still thinking there's none here?" "My mind could be changed," she said. Hehe, I think it will. The lights turned on, and the lioness' jaw sorta dropped. "Take a look around, just make sure you've got enough to pay," the owner chuckled to himself. The room went from looking dark to the size of an extended locker room. Each type of gun was spread out on a long rack, no Machine Guns - that's good. Immediately I went over to the SMG rack, grabbing my desired MP7A1. It felt soo light, but heavy at the same time. "Got one, onto the next," I say with excitement. Rushing on over to the Hand Gun rack, I had to look around a bit. There were a lot, but I eventually found what I was looking for. A Beretta M9, very light. I looked over to the other girls, Botan seems to be looking down the sights of her UMP9. I don't think that's a self-defense weapon, but it's her choice. My head turns to face Shion, who held her shotgun in both her hands. The owner was over there, talking to her. I think he was giving her the basics about the gun. Anyway, I've gotten 2 out of the 3 guns. That just leaves...the sniper! I went over there, containing my excitement. I carried my 2 other guns in one hand, don't worry - the safety was on and it wasn't even loaded.

So there I was, looking around the Sniper rack. I was having a hard time finding the NTW but I kept on any- wait...is that? I picked up the rifle in surprise, it was an MSR. You know, from my debut? Yeah you do. Oddly enough, I was more than happy with this find, even if it wasn't what I wanted. It felt just like the MP7 did, not too heavy but not too light either. I've got everything I needed, but I looked around some more - this time at the Hand Gun rack again. I didn't want to be the only armed citizen at home, so I grabbed 3 more pistols; an M1911, another M9 and a Tokarev. Alright! I'm done shopping, so I went over to Tomo and tugged on his shirt to get his attention. I left everything on an empty folding table, located in the middle of the room. "I'm ready to pay," I told him. Looking at the others, it seems they are too. "Cool. You all just need the ammunition and you're good to pay, then good to go," a smile on this guy's face.

-Time Skip-
20 seconds later...

We were all at that empty table, our weapons separated. "I've gotten everything you all need, ammo wise," Tomo said. All our ammo was stored in small boxes, but a large box for Shion. "Miss Ochitsu, all of your items comes upto a grand-total of 3.5 million yen. And as for Miss Shishiro and Miss Murasaki, your prices are 75 thousand and 50 thousand yen." I guess we got away with a bargain, eh? I got the highest price obviously but that's nothing to worry about. And as a bonus, we each got a case, so we wouldn't need to walk around with our guns in hand. I actually went ahead and got two more holsters. That was an extra 5 thousand yen. Now we were all standing outside the store, looked at each other and just smiled. "See you at HQ soon?" "Sure," they said in unison. I unlocked my car and just shoved my stuff onto the driver's seat. "Give Botan a ride home," I seemingly spoke into my phone. "Alright. Come on Shishiro, you're going home," my radio said. It was Techno, obviously. Botan herself looked kinda uneasy, but she appears calm enough to accept a ride from a car. "He's safe, don't worry." "I'm not, but thank you." She got into the car from the passenger side, the car speed off afterwards. I looked at Shion, giving her a thumbs up. "I'm off," before I could be off, she asked "Where?" "I need to check something out." I didn't put everything in the car, need I mind you.

As I walked on the sidewalks of busy Shibuya, I spotted some wannabe-thugs up ahead, loitering around the entrance to an alleyway. Perfect! I sped up until I was able to step into that alleyway, then I saw some more thugs down there. These guys were beefy, but that shouldn't be a problem. All I was equipped with to protect myself were on both of my legs, holstered. I kept on walking until I was stopped by one of the muscle-heads, who just stepped infront of me. He didn't say anything, he just grinned. The others behind him did too. I turned around to see more of them behind me, a great distance away though. I stepped back a bit to get some distance. But this forced the tough guys to step closer, so I lowered both hands to my thighs, gripping both weapons tightly. "Don't think about it," I warned while I pulled my guns out. I didn't point it at anyone though, but that was enough to send a shiver down their spines. "Y-you can't aim with that scrap metal anyway," one of the muscle-heads infront spoke. Then a clicking noise was heard - safety's off. I aimed my pistol at his face, primarily at his cheek. "Five seconds to apologize," I told him. Immediately after giving him another warning, I pulled the trigger. His cheek was grazed, but that would still hurt. He held it in pain, which made the others reconsider. Not even a second later was when they gave up, shouting in slight panic. The muscle-heads ran passed me, rather quickly too. And just like that, they were gone. Looking down at the two firearms, I felt something on my face - a smile. It was safe to say that I walked home, feeling good about myself. Now I don't need to worry about dying in gang-related activities. And as a bonus, I can protect those when I'm able too. That means I'll be getting more recognition by the public and stuff...yay.
