As the ninja hid their vehicles with leaves, I stayed behind to pet the Ultra Dragon, placing a few treats on the ground for it. The dragon gratefully nudged me with its head, and I chuckled, patting its side.

"Aah. This is a perfect place to lay low. No robots, no cameras, no problems," Lloyd said, smiling. I knew where we were—my father's dojo.

"Still, if any aerial drones pass overhead, you better wear this," Nya said, tossing him a golden gi. "It will scramble their signal so they can't find you."

Lloyd laughed, catching the gi and inspecting it. "Yeah, this is sweet."

"Lloyd?" Misako called out, running up to hug him. She squeezed him tightly before stepping back. "Oh. What are you all doing here?"

"The Overlord's back and New Ninjago City has fallen under his control. He has Sensei Wu," Lloyd answered, his face clouding with concern.

"Wu's tough. There's a reason he's lived as long as he has," Misako said, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"Well, where's Dad?" I asked, looking around.

"Yeah, where's Lord Garmadon?" Kai questioned, scoffing.

"He no longer goes by Lord. Here, he is Sensei Garmadon, and he won't be back until this evening's lesson," Misako replied, her tone calm.

"Uh, did you just say Sensei Garmadon?" Jay asked, very confused. I realized I had only told Nya about this, and I guess she hadn't told anyone else.

"I'm glad he's on our side now. With Sensei Wu gone, we could use the help," Zane replied as we started walking the path towards the dojo.

"Come in, but your weapons are not allowed. Ever since Lloyd saved his father, Garmadon has sworn an oath to never fight in hopes of making up for his evil past. It's an oath he takes very seriously," Misako stated, and all the ninja stopped, hesitating.

"But we were supposed to protect these with our lives," Kai responded, gripping his Techno Blade.

"And never let them out of our sight," Jay added, looking conflicted.

"You guys go on ahead, I will stay back and watch over them," Zane said, stepping forward. The ninja each gave him their Techno Blades.

"Thanks, Zane."

"You're awesome."

"You're the best."

With that, we left the ninja walking in front. I walked beside Lloyd until a bunch of kids ran up, excitedly crowding around him. Lloyd ruffled their hair, smiling brightly. I watched as the other ninja engaged with the kids. Cole lifted one child on each arm, their laughter echoing around us, while Kai showed off some simple Spinjitzu moves to the awestruck kids.

"I recognize that look," Misako said, glancing at Nya with a knowing smile.

"What look? I wasn't looking," Nya replied nervously, her cheeks tinged with pink.

I stared at the two, confused, maybe it's something about her and Jay. "I think I'm just gonna go," I said, smiling at her and waving goodbye. I decided to join the others, feeling the warmth of the peaceful moment amidst the chaos we had left behind.

I found myself gravitating toward Cole. He was still lifting kids and making them laugh with his antics. Seeing him so effortlessly strong and gentle was endearing.
