After we went to the Temple of Light and each received our elemental powers, life became a whirlwind of activity. Jay and Nya were enjoying a rare date night trying to rekindle, P.I.X.A.L. and Zane were buried in work at headquarters with my father and Sensei Wu. Lloyd and Cole were out patrolling the toxic bogs for any sign of Pythor.

Meanwhile, I was on a mission with Kai, who was currently indulging in his trademark distraction technique. Right now, he was in a gas station, deep in conversation with a woman behind the counter. I was stuck in the car, trying to stay out of sight.

"So these are the hottest snacks you've got? Hotter than this?" Kai asked, leaning on the counter with a grin as the woman giggled and tossed her hair.

"That your ride out there? Pretty hot," the woman replied, giving the Prototype X-1 Roadster a skeptical look. I rolled my eyes. Please don't invite her to join us.

"That old thing? That's just the Prototype X-1 Roadster. I'm kind of a secret agent," Kai said with a wink. "Oops, guess it's not a secret anymore. Want to go for a spin? I know Spinjitzu."

I sighed, using my wind powers to ruffle the papers on the counter in a huff of frustration. I could hear P.I.X.A.L.'s voice crackling through the intercom. "Kai, Y/n, I need you."

"Finally," I muttered, glaring at Kai through the window. "Come on, Kai, we've got work to do!"

"Just a minute, Y/n," Kai said, his eyes still locked on the woman. He flashed her a charming smile, which only made me roll my eyes harder.

"Who's she?" the woman asked, raising an eyebrow.

"This is Y/n. She's... my sidekick," Kai said, finally tearing himself away. "The sidekick who always ruins my fun."

"More like the one who has to save you from yourself," I shot back, pushing open the car door and walking toward him. "And I'm not a sidekick."

As Kai strolled past me to the car, I used my wind powers to give him a gentle shove, guiding him toward the drivers seat. He stumbled slightly but caught himself with a smirk.

"Easy there, Y/n. I'm perfectly capable of walking," he said, sliding into the seat.

"Oh, I'm sure you are. But let's be honest, you were about to invite her to the headquarters and make us all look ridiculous," I retorted, taking the passengers seat as he started the engine.

Kai chuckled, settling into the seat. "What can I say? I've got a way with people."

"And by 'way with people,' you mean getting us into trouble," I said, turning to face him with a raised eyebrow and slide the sunglasses on and trying to suppress a smile. "Just remember, next time you decide to flirt, maybe leave it for after our mission."

Kai laughed as he peeled out of the gas station. "What can I say? A little charm goes a long way. Besides, if I'm going to be stuck on missions, I might as well make the most of it."

I crossed my arms, giving him a pointed look. "You know, maybe if you focused more on the mission and less on flirting, we'd actually get things done faster."

"Come on, Y/n, don't pretend you're not impressed by my smooth talking." He glanced over at me with that cocky grin of his.

I raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah, I'm so impressed by how you can turn a simple snack run into a soap opera." I gestured toward the gas station where the woman was still watching us drive away. "Do you even remember what we're supposed to be doing?"
