Thirty Four.

"Lex just open the door" Jack muttered, as his fist banged on the door, and Alexa pulled her knees up to her chest. This wasn't how it was supposed to happen, she never thought she would be in this situation, the doctors had told her it wasn't possible.

"Lexa please, I'm begging ya here" Jack stated, and Alexa heard his voice crack, she knew he was probably just as broken as she was weeks ago, but as much as her head told her to stay put, she found herself listening to her heart and walking over to the door.

"Lex" Jack breathed, and as clear as day she saw the tear marks down his face, his eyes slightly red and his cheeks puffy, it was clear he had been crying.

"Are ya alright?" Jack questioned, but he didn't move his feet past the metal bar on the floor, usually he would push past and get in the room, anything to spend time with her, but he knew he couldn't, he knew he needed to respect her space, no matter how much it killed him to be apart from her right now.

"Have you been crying?" Alexa whispered, as Jack chuckled to himself quietly. "You always did think about others over yourself" Jack continued to chuckle as Alexa rolled her eyes at the midfielder.

"Ya pregnant Lex" Jack smiled, and it was a genuine smile, from ear to ear, anyone would of thought he had just been told by Southgate that he was going to play star striker for the next month, or even England captain.

"Jack, don't get your hopes up, this doesn't mean anything" Alexa warned, but she swore she felt her heart break as she watched the smile fall from his face.

"Lex?" Jack questioned, as Alexa walked back into her room and sat on the bed, Jack slowly following after closing the door behind him. "Whatcha mean?" Jack questioned. "This can't happen again Jack" Alexa whispered, as she pulled her knees up to her chest.

"You made me the happiest I've been in a long time, you made me feel like I had a purpose and something to be here for, but you also took that away in a drop of a hat, you made me feel like I didn't even matter to you and I won't allow myself to fall for that again" Alexa whispered.

"It'll be different" Jack muttered, as he ran a hand through his hair and sat down on the bed, next to Alexa but not too close, he knew he needed to keep the space between them.

"No it won't Jack, we started on a hook up thing, we was never supposed to catch feelings, I was never supposed to slow dance with you at the end of my time here, I was never supposed to fall in love with you or let you in and I did and look where that's gotten me" Alexa huffed, she was angry at herself, she wanted to be angry at him, but every time she looked at him she knew she couldn't stay angry at him.

"What do I have to do Lex?" Jack questioned, as Alexa shook her head and played with her own hair. "Leave me alone" Alexa stated, and it killed Jack to nod his head, it hurt him to accept what she wanted, and for now he would listen, but just for now.

"I want to be involved Lex, at least let me do that" Jack stated, as he stood back at the door frame, looking over at the female who had his heart, he was just too dumb to be trusted with it.

"We will talk when I'm ready to talk" Alexa stated, as Jack nodded his head and walked out the door, softly closing it behind him as Alexa let out a deep breath, one she didn't know she had been holding.

Until there was a soft knock on the door. "Fuck off" Alexa muttered, but the knocking continued and she knew it wasn't going away.

"What do you want?" Alexa questioned as she opened the door to see Declan standing there. "Just saw Jack, he looks like shit" Declan chuckled, as Alexa nodded her head and beckoned for Declan to come into the room.

"I can't believe you get a nicer room for taking photos" Declan teased, as Alexa rolled her eyes at her brothers best friend, she knew from experience that he was always the one who made the silliest jokes at the right time, even if in that moment it didn't feel like it.

"How are you feeling? I feel like no one's probably asked that" Declan smiled, as he threw himself on the bed and began to help himself to the snacks that were open on the side of the dresser as Alexa raised her eyebrows at him.

"I'm okay, I mean as good as I can be" Alexa stated, as she pulled the bag of crisps from his hands and began to eat some herself.

"You know, having two lads chasing you isn't easy" Declan smirked, as he reached his hand into the bag of crisps and pulled a couple out, as Alexa hit his arm playfully. "I don't know what you're on about" Alexa mumbled as she continued to eat the crisps.

"Oh but you do, you have our little chilly who has worshiped the ground you've walked on for years, and then you have jacky boy who walked in and snapped you up in weeks" Declan laughed, and then stopped when he realised what he has said, and how inconsiderate it would of sounded to a pregnant woman.

"Oh Lex, if I could go back in time and tell you that this is how you ended up, you'd laugh at me and tell me to go away" Declan smiled, as Alexa nodded her head. "Too right I would" Alexa smiled.
"But on a serious note, we need you downstairs, they're starting to put together videos and all I could hear was 'we need Alexa' so I figured I'd come find you" Declan said softly, as Alexa nodded her head.

"No rest for the wicked aye?" Alexa smiled.
