"Let me guess, you sat and ate ice cream and watched City get thrashed" Mason chuckled as he walked into the lounge area of his home, looking at his sister who looked like she had watched several sad films on repeat.

"Something like that" Alexa mumbled, as she placed the empty carton of ice cream on the side of the table in front of her, something she never usually finished, she hated ice cream, but something about the sensation of the cold food hitting her throat made her feel like she was human once again.

"His just a lad Lex, you'll get over him" Mason stated, he meant his words to be comforting, to be somewhat wise, but it didn't sound like that when the words left his mouth, making Alexa's face frown as she looked at her twin brother.

And she didn't quite know how they could be so close, born minutes apart, and grew up together, to be so distant and different all in one.

"And what if I don't want to get over him?" Alexa stated, as her eyes lander on Masons and his eyes grew slightly wide. "You'd actually go back there wouldn't you?" Mason scoffed, as he threw his hand through his hair that was still longer on the top, something his fans was adoring at the moment.

"I don't know what I want" Alexa huffed, clearly not wanting a relationship talk from her brother, but she knew deep down it was going to happen either way, whether she wanted it or not.

"You can't let him just cheat on you Lex, it'll always happen, a leopard never changes his spots" Mason murmured before he got up from the sofa and kissed her forehead softly, trying to be the bigger person and not make her feel worse than she did.

"Mase?" Alexa whispered, as he turned to look at her from the door, a soft smile on his face as he nodded his head, a signal for her to continue with whatever she was going to say.

"If you had someone who showed you how to live your life again, made you feel like you was perfect, despite every reason to not be branded perfect, but someone who ultimately did care about you and what was best for you, what would you do?" Alexa questioned, as she watched her brothers chest rise up and down, a sign that he was either trying to calm himself down, or regulate an answer for her question.

"He still hurt you Lex, no matter how much life he gave you" Mason whispered, as Alexa nodded her head. "I can't tell you what to do, you're an adult, but I've been here enough times to know what the next step is, to know that you'll kill yourself mentally and physically trying to make it all right again, and I'm not going to sit here and watch you throw your life away in bottles, I love you Lex" Mason stated, as he walked over and wrapped his arms around his sister.

Mason and Alexa always had that complicated relationship. It was the going away on football camps and training days and leaving her behind to fend for herself, despite being attached at the hip during home life. It was the countless nights where Alexa thought she was living her life by being out partying and drinking, when the reality was Mason being worried about his sister, wondering if next time he visited his hometown where his sister would still be alive and breathing.

"You're my little sister Lex, I just want what's best for you, and sometimes I won't agree with what you think is best and sometimes I will, but you're big enough to make you're own life choices, I just have to like it and lump it" Mason stated, as he rested his head on top of Alexa's and held her close for a moment.

"So, you'll support me no matter what happens, or what I choose?" Alexa questioned softly, and for a moment as Masons eyes landed on hers, he didn't see the troublesome sister that everyone else saw, he saw the twin that he always knew he had a connection with, someone who he knew would support him till his last moment, and he knew deep down he needed to do the same, no matter how hard it was.

"Always" Mason smiled, as he held out his hand, allowing Alexa to take his pinky in his and make a pinky promise, something so simple but something that always remained a real reason to not break a promise to both of them, no matter how childish it seemed to others.

"Now, get some sleep, you're going to need it" Mason whispered, as Alexa let out a small yawn, nodding her head as she smiled at her brother.

"Night Mase" Alexa chimed from the sofa, as she found the energy to get up and move herself from the spot she had been in most of the afternoon. "Night Lex" Mason smiled, as he plodded up the stairs, heading to his own bedroom.

But as Alexa got ready for bed, she couldn't help the niggling feeling that she needed to do what had been on her mind all day, for some while actually, but she knew she wasn't in the right headspace for that conversation either.

Alexa flicked through Instagram on her phone, seeing Jack, as well as the Manchester City's account flood her phone, a small knot forming in her stomach, that made her feel sick, but also as if she missed him more than she should in the circumstances he had caused in the situation they were now in.

But she couldn't help but ghost over the comments about how well he had played, or how sad he had looked through the match, and she knew deep down it could be to do with the conversation they had, had prior to him stepping on the pitch. But what made Alexa feel worse was the knowledge that Jack always had a social media and a phone block prior to the day of the game, the only circumstance being a text to his family, thanking them for the good luck they had wished, and he had broke that tradition by messaging her, which she had blew off in minutes of responding to him.

But as Alexa lay in bed, her phone now on the nightstand next to the bed, images and thoughts running wild in her mind, from the match she had watched unfold, and the images of Jack and Sasha clouding her mind, to Mason's words of wisdom, and she knew she would eventually crack under the pressure of trying to be the bigger, and better person.
As her eyes casted over the half empty bottle under the pillows on the floor, to the bathroom en-suite connected to her room with the light blaring through the crack in the door, she knew she needed to make a choice, she just didn't know which one to choose right now.
