Bicol
Y/N Pov
The following day, you went out and had lunch with your grandparents. You told them that you and Tricia broke up. At first, your lola was mad at you but eventually calmed down when your lolo told her that you and Tricia are still young. Maybe you'll get back together, maybe not, but we shouldn't force Y/N to be with Tricia if both of them are unhappy already. You're quite grateful that your lolo understood your situation.
After spending the whole day with your grandparents, it's time for you to leave. You sighed and tried to gather your courage. After a few minutes, you face your lolo and lola.
"Lo, la... I have something important to say po" you took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself and push through "I'm planning to study abroad na po" you faintly smiled at them.
"Are you sure apo?" your lolo asked while your lola looked at you, visibly shocked by what she heard. "Mga ilang taon mo din kami pinahintay apo" your lolo continued to tease you.
"Yes po. Ilang years ko na din po pinost-poned yung studies ko for Masteral. Yung bunso kapatid ko, ganap na lawyer na for the public like you po lolo. I think it's time for me to prioritize my education na din po." you started playing with your hands, nervous that they would be angry with your sudden decision. "Uuwi naman po ako after a while... maybe 2 years?" you nervously added.
"Are you leaving ba apo dahil sa nangyari sainyo ni Tricia?" This time your lola was the one who asked with her cold voice. Your lolo has a contemplative look on his face, thinking whether you're making the right decision. You sighed.
"Partly po. Pero, you gave an ultimatum po, remember? Dba after graduation ko dapat umalis na ako for my Master's but I chose to stay 'cause I was foolishly inlove at that time with another ex, and everyday ninyo ako pinapagalitan and it happened again for the 2nd time and binigyan na ninyo ako ultimatum po before I started to pursue Tricia" You chuckled fondly when you remember how immature you were at that time and everyone kept on reprimanding you every day. This forces you to confront your own mistakes and regrets until you eventually learn to accept and mature in your own decisions.
"If you're sure apo. Then go. As long as you are happy and decisive with your choices" Your lola sternly assured you and nudged your lolo. "Don't regret it Y/N, okay? That's the only thing I've ever asked of you since the beginning." your lolo said, his eyebrows furrowed. "And be sure to comeback within 2 years. You're still the primary heir in our family. You know naman na pabaya yung mga older cousins mo lalo na yung mga lalaki unlike sainyo mga babae apo namin." He sighed, completely worn out because of your irresponsible cousins. Well, he wasn't wrong. Because all of you grew up with a silver spoon, all your older male cousins didn't take education seriously no matter how much your grandparents and their parents reprimanded them, and your grandparents excluded them from their will and mainly focused on their younger grandkids, hoping one of you would be the primary heir to continue their legacy. "All this fucking family pressure. Kaya ako tumatakas eh" you internally sighed in despair.
"I know po" you admitted, barely whispering. "That's why I also want to go abroad and have my Master's as soon as possible para makabalik agad." You smiled as capable as you could without showing them how heavy the responsibility they gave to you was. "I've been running away for years na din. Maybe it's time for me to face everything".
