Y/N POV
It's been a few weeks since the dean confirmed your part of the graduating class next spring. You've already shipped your things back to the Philippines and today is your last day in your apartment in New Haven.
James and some other local Filipinos in the area decided that you all go to Mohegan Sun to have dinner and probably play some casino games. After a few hours of getting ready and rechecking everything in your apartment, you drove to Norwich.
"Hey stranger." You turned around to see who greeted you. As soon as you saw the person, a smile blossomed on your face.
"Kristine!" You exclaimed. She immediately hugged you and congratulated you. She guided you where everyone was seated and as soon as they saw you, they clamored around you. Speaking at the same time, trying to see how you have been.
Dealing with a lot of people at the same time can be exhausting but you're definitely happy to spend time with your surrogate family. They have been there since the day you've returned for your studies and as years go-by the family just continue to increase and adopt Filipino students doing their internship/training in the state.
After having dinner at one of the restaurants where you can easily observe people going in and out of the Casinos. You were dragged around by your friends until Kristine convinced you to try one game before leaving.
"It's your last 3 days here before going to New York. It might be your lucky night, right? Just one game then we'll go home at my house and party until dawn." Kristine insisted.
-----------------------------
"That wasn't so bad." James happily smacks your back then run inside Kristine's house and hurriedly closed the door.
"I lost around $500! You ass!" You shouted and immediately run after James. Once you opened the door, you were surprised with what they planned for you.
"SURPRISE!" Confetti was thrown at you. Looking around the aunties and uncles from the Filipino community in Norwich are there to celebrate with you. Smiling brightly at everyone, one by one they hugged you and congratulated you.
