At it stood, the time sat at two-thirty in the morning. The sun was very much still on the other side of the world, but she bit her lip as she looked at her two bags of luggage. She did not mean to overpack, but she had to cover base for any weather condition that she could possibly be met with.

Now, she had to figure out how to explain this without sounding like a spoiled brat to Hendrichs. Not that she cared anyway, but he was doing her a favor by driving down when he could very much afford to buy a last minute plane ticket.

Last night when she sent him her address, he had responded with a thumbs up emoji, and had told her to pack light. It honestly wasn't because she was trying to be difficult that she didn't follow instruction, but when it came to clothing, she was very particular about what she wore and how she wore it. Another problem that she had was the fact that she didn't quite have the formal, or much rather, appropriate wear for a funeral.

She had searched high and low for one, and yet the only appropriate one she had come across was a gray knitted maxi dress that fit her body like a glove. She had it reserved for the day of the funeral, but for the rest of the week they would be down there she hoped and prayed her clothes would be as modest as they could be.

As it also stood, she hadn't spoken to Annalise since games night. She had called herself catching an attitude with Shane, because Logan had stuck to a hip, like a newborn baby. She couldn't care to be bothered about it, because it wasn't her fault that they got along the way they did. It also wasn't her fault, that he did not pay her any mind except when it came to work.

She definitely was not one of those friends who tried to name drop you to the guy that you liked if that guy was her friend. She believed in not being an influence to a relationship, and that if it was supposed to happen, it would occur by itself. So if Anna wanted to be upset, she would definitely give the room to do so.

She would not be apologizing for anything, because she definitely knew that she was not in the wrong. She also would not be groveling at her feet, because once again, this did not bother one bit. She was not a queen that she had to beg for mercy, and her life was going quite alright whether Annalise was in it, or not.

However, she was a bit bothered by the message she had gotten from Marie which she had simply left on read. She wasn't quite sure how she should feel about the message, so she couldn't bring herself to respond, until she had her thoughts gathered. She knew that she did not want to end up saying something that she would soon regret.

She looked at the time on her watch, and figured she could sneak in a bowl of cereal before Hendrichs arrived. She hadn't eaten anything, because who in the world could eat anything at two in the morning.

So whilst the microwave warmed her milk, she double checked that she had everything she would need, and that included her charger, her snacks, and her iPad, which she definitely would be using to watch downloaded movies on the road.

This was an approximately eleven hour journey, and she knew damn well she would not be spending any of it having conversation with Hendrichs, so she was most definitely prepared.

As soon as her milk was hot and ready, she prepared her cornflakes just the way she liked them; adding sugar —then went on to sit on her couch, and indulged in it with all its goodness.

She closed her eyes, and sighed, thinking about her own family. Though she usually didn't do this, she felt the need to call her mother and talk to her, just so she could have some peace in her heart.

Even though they were not on the best of terms, she would still hate, and could not imagine losing her mother. Even though they were on rocky terms, she was the only one of her two parents who stayed, and she couldn't bring herself to ever forget that.
