Once changed into her nightgown, Lucy slowly walked over to her bed and sat down. She reached up and pulled her ponytail out, and began brushing her hair. Then, she heard a knock at the door. "Come in." she said. The door opened and Susan walked in. "Just came to say goodnight." she said, quietly shutting the door behind her. She walked over to Lucy's bed and sat down beside her.
"Did you enjoy today?" Susan asked. Lucy smiled and nodded.
"It was wonderful." she replied. "One of the best birthdays ever."
Susan smiled back. They were silent for a second, before Susan asked, "How do you feel about turning 15?"
"I don't know." she answered. "Good, I guess. Excited."
"Yeah." Susan breathed.
Lucy yawned audibly. "I'm tired." she mumbled. Susan nodded.
"Well, I'm glad you had a good day." she said as she got up. Susan hugged her sister, then headed to the door. "I'll see you in the morning. Goodnight."
"Goodnight." Lucy said back as Susan opened the door.
"And happy birthday." Susan said over her shoulder. Lucy smiled.
"Thanks."
