After a half hour of driving like a mad man through traffic, I finally got Shay into a hospital room. Scarlett, Ryan, Marissa, Carly and Taylor made their way here from the baby shower. Shay made it clear that she wanted her mom with her while she gave birth.

"You have that look in your eyes." Ryan looked at me from the chair on the side of me.

"What look?" I asked.

"The new dad look."

I gave him a "wtf are you talking about" look.

"You look nervous and excited." He explained.

"Oh, that look. I guess I am nervous and exctied." I admitted.

"It only gets harder, yet funner, from here." He patted me on my back and smiled. I smiled back at him and relised I was more nervous than excited.

What if my son hates me? What if he doesn't want to know me? What if he doesn't love me like I love him?

"MOM!!!" I yelled loud enough so my mom could heat me from the waiting room. She came running inside within seconds.

"Whats wrong?" She looked as if she was in a panic.

"It hurts! Why can't they give me that shot already so I can push him out!" I sounded crazy.

"Not yet, Shay. It's almost time for that." She rubbed my forehead in an act of trying to sooth me.

"Well, their not acting fast enough!" I complained.

"Hey, is everything okay?" My dad walked in the room and sat next to me and held my hand.

"They need to give me that shot soon or there will be issues!" I yelled, while gripping my dads hand tighter than before.

"Ow, Shailene! Let go!" I did as he asked and rolled over in frustration.

"God, your just like your mom when it comes to being in labor." He mumbled loud enough for me to hear.

"What does that meen?" I looked over at him from my shoulder.

"Your cranky and demanding like she was when she had you and Carly." He rolled his eyes. "Those were the most annoeying times of my life, but when I finally met you girls, it was all worth it."

"Thats so sweet." I smiled.

"Yeah. I'll leave you to rest." He and my mom stood up and left the room as my doctor came in.

"Hello, Ms. Murray. Since your far enough, would you like the epidural?" She asked, holding the shot in her hands.

"Yes! Please!" I shouted and sat up. The doctor laughed at me and put me in the correct position.

"This will hurt a little bit." She warned.

I felt, only, the needle point enter my back. After that, the contractions were too strong and painful for me to feel the medicine go in.

"Woah." I felt the medicine kick in right away, causing all the pain to go away.

"Pretty good stuff, huh?" My doctor joked.

"Yeah..." I put my head down on the pillow and fell asleep for the first time in the 8 hours of endless contractions.
