Chapter 21: Do You Care?

Taylor P.O.V
I ran over to the lunch table where Shailene and Marco were sitting. I sat down next to her to tell her the awful news.
"Taylor, what's wrong?" She asked.
"Marco, could you just give us a minute. It's girly stuff." I asked politely. He threw his hands up and smiled.
"Say no more." He kissed Shailene's cheek and walked away.
"So, don't kill me. I'm just finding this out now." I started. "Marissa and Brett are dating!" I whispered.
"What?" She looked so sad.
"I just saw them kissing and then I asked her if it was true. She said yes." She started to cry. I wrapped an arm around her and gave her a napkin.
"Why would she do this? She knows he got me pregnant, and now she's flaunting her relationship with him!" She wipped her tears with the napkin.
"I don't know, Shay. But I'm here for you, no matter what happens!" I smiled at her.
"Thanks Taylor." She smiled. "I don't want to talk to her anymore. Just you."
"Okay. I'll be here whenever you need me."

Marissa P.O.V
I sat down and watched Taylor tell Shailene about my relationship with Brett from a distance. Brett finally came over and put his arm around me.
"Hey baby." He kissed my lips.
"Can I ask you something? And be honest." I bit my lip.
"Sure." He waited for the question.
"Do you even care that you got Shailene pregnant? Do you even care about the baby?" I sounded physco.
"What do you meen? Of course I care I got her pregnat, and I apologized to her today. As for the baby..." He looked over at her, then back at me. "I'm not sure."
"Well she's not getting rid of it. So you should consider something." I suggested.
"Like what?"
"I don't know! But she's gunna need help." I admitted.
"Well, she can ask other people, not me." He kissed me again.
"Oh and uh, I'm gunna be like an hour late tonight."
"Why?"
"I, uh, need to talk to someone important." He seemed suspicious, but I shrugged it off.
