There is some mature content ahead. Not completely 🍋 but still kind of heated and sort of explicit.

It was a relatively calm night. Kakashi was on his watching duty again. Although despite the quietness of his work, he wasn't enjoying it as much as he used to. Obviously, patroling Konoha during the night was not his dream job. Normally, he would just spend his duty time thinking, or rather feeling— nothing good, though. He had spent part of his life grieving the loss of so many people he cared about. And lately, with all that happened with Itachi who was under him... He had just been thinking more than before. Especially thinking about how he could have been a better influence on him, a better captain. Perhaps he could have then avoided him doing such a thing to his clan.

It was as well these kinds of thoughts that made him feel misplaced. As if he no longer was the captain his team in the Anbu needed. His desires and will seemed to no longer be fulfilled by all this. To no longer match the ones of those around him, his teammates, and subordinates. It was not something to do with being a ninja, of course. He loved and still had that same aspiration. But he just felt... inane, distrait overall.

He wondered why this feeling seemed to have sprouted all of a sudden. After all, he was the cold-blooded Hatake Kakashi. Cruel enough to kill his friends and teammates. Or at least that was what people still said about him. But then, why did he no longer feel like that?

"Kakashi!" a voice took him out of his thoughts. And upon recognizing the owner's voice a frown immediately loomed on his face. However, when he looked up and saw her face his brow couldn't help but loosen up "Kakashi" (Y/n) called him again as she reached the place he was. She bent slightly and leaned on her knees as she had sprinted as soon as she saw him. He arched a brow 'She hasn't stolen from someone and is running away again, is she?' he couldn't help but think 'I thought we were long past that' "Ah, I'm so glad I found you" she smiled, slowly regaining her breath.

"What are you doing?" he asked, doubtful of the reason why she was out this late.

"I was called by Kurva but I just remembered I normally take care of Naruto around this time" she explained. Kakashi blinked, curious as to where all this was headed.

"This late?"

"Yeah, well he's alone and he has a tendency to stray around stirring some problems"

"Not Naurto," Kakashi sweat-dropped, although now that she mentioned it, he was also slightly curious about that too "I meant Kurva. Why are you working this late? What does she want you to do?"

"Oh, that. I don't know yet" (Y/n) answered cluelessly and without a glimpse of worry, unlike Kakashi who could only do but wonder what kind of stuff the old woman would require from her. He still wasn't sure of their arrangement, but seeing the oddity of the time he was for sure going to eat his own mind with thoughts further "I think she just wanted to have a meeting or something, I'm not sure" she explained, certainly oblivious to any of Kakashi's thoughts "Anyway," she quickly went back to the topic at hand "Can you check on him for me, please?"

"What" Kakashi blinked twice, having forgotten about poor Naruto. His head was just too occupied with other more important things.

"Naruto," she reminded him "I told you, I'm usually around but I won't be able to do so today"

"He can take care of himself," Kakashi's expression went back to his bored one. Thankfully, his Anbu mask was resting on top of his head, and thus (Y/n) noticed. She pouted in a deadpan-kind-of-way in return.

"He's all alone Kakashi..." she tried to convince him. He rolled his eyes, looking elsewhere that weren't her shining (e/c) eyes.

"You know I'm working too, right?"
