Angel's P.O.V

I stood in the middle of my bathroom, looking down at my body as I watched the remaining water fall down my Carmel brown skin through my hair. I watch as the droplets fall down my arms and legs and past the faint scars on my stomach. I stare at them as if I could make them go away with just my thoughts alone. I then followed my scars that traced my hips and moved to my lower torso. I then turn to my side to try and look at my back just to see that it's entirely coated with strips of scarring and wounds that didn't heal properly over time.

I've always been disgusted with the way my body looks. It resembled everything I owned. Used, touched, and battered.
I spent my life trying to hide them from everyone. I wore sweaters, jackets, long sleeve shirts, pants, and long socks.
And nothing made me feel more comfortable than sweats.

The only challenge I have now is the spring and summertime. It's the time of year when people dress less and showed their skin. Flip-flops & sandals, tank tops & crop tops, and shorts & capris. It's never been a problem because I always spent my days in the attic I called my room. I never thought about it until today. I'm supposed to be going to the pool with Esme and Cena, Abby and Winda, and Elijah.

Elijah graduated Pre-k. I couldn't go because of my heat but Esme told me that I could make it up by going to the pool with them. I immediately invited Abby because I don't know how to swim. Now that I realize I am going to be half-naked, I am lucky to have invited her. She doesn't know it but Abby is going to be my crutch for getting through tomorrow.

I grab my towel and dry myself off as I walk into my room. After putting on a pair of briefs, I head to my closet and search for my sleeved black shirt and grey sweat pants to wear today. I haven't been able to roam around in the pack in two and a half weeks. After my heat ended Grey suddenly got sick so I stuck by his side until he got better.

He said something about recharging for sorcerers when they use immense magic all at once. I tried to question him about what he was doing that required him to use so much of his magic but he wouldn't answer any of my questions. All I knew was that his house was in shambles so he stayed with me for the duration of his sickness. Now that he's better, he repaired his house in no time and now he's back home.

It seemed like this wasn't the first time because Grey knew exactly what he needed to get better the fastest way. He even told me what to feed him and what medicine to ask for from the pack healers. It made me worried because he seemed like a completely different person. But he was back to his usual self once he was all better. I haven't seen him since he left my house but he texts me updates about the condition of his house so that I can start visiting his place again.

I put on the old vans that I've had for years and make my way out of the house. It's about seven in the morning, and I am supposed to meet up with a few pack scouts for a run. I would run with the warriors but they get up and run at five before patrolling at six a.m and I don't think I could get up that early every day.

Once I make it to the Weapons Hut, I see most of the scouts gathered together. They all look so pumped with energy. The energy I wish I had. Some were trying to finish off their breakfast while others were just ideally chatting amongst one another. I'm not as acquainted with the scouts as I am with the warriors. The one person I talked to was Conan. But Conan isn't here.

He mentioned something about his rank being assessed for misconduct or something like that. So I am on my own for now. I scan the crowd and sigh deeply at the cheerful and unfamiliar faces.

"Hey new face, you lost?" A random stranger says while walking up to me. As I was about to answer him another person from behind him pops out and speaks first.
