Third Person P.O.V
Shawn was never good at keeping secrets, everyone who knew Shawn knew this. Maribel, his mother, stopped telling him cheap secrets about her upcoming romantic gestures to his father.
His uncle Paul no longer told Shawn about tactic strategies for the warriors in the pack because he would always 'accidentally' tell them during avid conversation.
Even Cena quickly stopped telling Shawn about his nightly outings because Shawn would just tell their parents at some point. On this day, Shawn was particularly proud of himself because he had waited over thirty-six hours before telling someone what he saw, even though his uncle told him to forget about it. And who better to tell than his neighbor, Xander?
"There's no way you saw five of them," Xander exclaims from in front of him. They were both taking a walk in the woods but they couldn't travel too far from the pack, into patrolling grounds where it can get dangerous.
"Of course I did. There were five Alpha's. But I was smart enough to leave,"
"Did you fight them?" Xander asks.
"You can't fight Alphas in a rut. It is dangerous. My mom says they're protective of whatever they claim,"
Xander looks at Shawn with a confused expression. "So what happened then?"
"I told my uncle and he said that we couldn't do anything. We waited for them to leave the school all night," he said shrugging.
"And was the omega okay?" Xander asks with interest.
Shawn looks away painfully as he said, "I don't know, uncle Paul said that some would help so we didn't have too,"
"So you left him at the school?"
"No!" Shawn defended as he ducked under a low branch in his path. "Uncle Paul said that someone would help him,"
"How do you know that? Adults lie all the time," Xander claims as he hangs from a branch briefly before he clumsily falls to the ground.
"You know what we should do? We should go back to the school and check if he's still there!"
Shawn bends over to pick up a stick and holds it in his hands tightly. He liked the idea of going back and checking to see if the omega was still there. Maybe he could talk to him if he was. He could explain how he wanted to help but couldn't, the alphas were dangerous when in their rut. And his uncle was unmated so he couldn't help either. He could explain that they waited for him. Shawn hoped that his uncle was lying about someone helping the omega cause that meant that he was still there in the bathroom.
"What if he isn't there anymore?" Shawn asked nervously while swinging his stick around.
"But what if he is? Don't you want to go tonight and see for yourself? The school isn't too far from our street, we could run there," Xander says with enthusiasm.
"Okay," Shawn agrees in equal measure. "But what about our parents?"
"Oh, yeah," Xander says getting lost in thought. "You need to sleep over at my house. Yours would be too hard. Your mother would never leave us alone," Shawn nodded in agreement. His mother loved Xander and his charm but always claimed how she would hate to have him as a son. It was confusing to Shawn sometimes.
"Okay, let's go now and start packing," Shanwn says snapping his stick in half before dropping onto the forest floor. "I'll race you back Xander!"
