Chapter 8

I was dancing so hard and my blood was pounding in my ears. My heart raced and my breathing was laboured but I was loving every minute of it. I was having the experience of a life time and I had been tempted to miss it. I would have definitely regretted that decision.

I through my hair back and forth and rocked my body to the rhythm. I had never felt so alive. I had never been one for partying when I was….back home. I was the quiet type that read books, watched movies and always planned stuff that we I never did.

But now I was wild like the animals next to me. It was a moment in a life time that no one could ever compare to. I looked over the masses of sexy male bodies to spy some of my group. I really needed to learn their names. I saw one of the twin Asian woman laughing with one of the middle aged wolves. She seemed happy. Her sister was chatting away happily with another wolf who was sitting extremely close to her.

I think they had found their mates, or were trying to at least, or even possibly just happy to be spending time with a woman. I saw one of the young woman talking to what looked like a 17 year old wolf. Around the right age though I think she may have been slightly younger. I will have to tell them to go slowly or I wouldn’t let them see each other. Oh my god I sound like a mother. Shame my mother never got me to tell me that.

Another young girl was looking a little bit nervous next to what seemed to be a young wolf. She looked like she was blushing in the light, not able to meet his eyes. I think she was the youngest of the lot, most likely just 14. At the back of the cave I could see the bus driver sitting sadly, looking at a picture in his wallet. Maybe it was his wife or kids. I felt sorry for him, he was here for no reason at all.

I stopped dancing and walked over to the old man. He looked up at me and I saw a lone tear escape. I put my hand on his shoulder and smiled slightly. “She is waiting for you. And you will be with her soon, I can promise that.”

He smiled a little happier. “What would do without you?” he laughed. “We don’t even know your name.”

“Well, I’m Hayley. And don’t think that. You would do fine without me, all you needed was a push in the right direction and a kick of courage and I wouldn’t be needed at all.” I sat on the dirty ground beside him. I put an arm around his shoulder and hugged him. “I’m sorry.”

“Nah, I will be fine. I guess my wife was right, I do need patience. Thank you so much, Hayley. Without you, I would be dead and I would never see my family again. Maybe when we get back home I can introduce you to my eldest son.” He said jokily. Or at least I hoped.

I laughed loudly, it seemed funny coming out of my mouth. Like it had been built up and hadn’t been let go in a long time. “We’ll see.”

“Do you know what I see?” the bus driver said looking out into the crowd.

“What?” I asked trying to follow his gaze.

“That alpha person has been staring at you for the last half hour. Actually I don’t think he has even blinked.”

And then I caught it, Seth’s intense gaze. I blushed majorly. I felt so embarrassed. What was he doing staring at me? “I see.” I mumbled drawing my eyes away from him.

“GO talk to him, he obviously wants to talk to you.” The bus driver ushered.

“No, he probably wants to apologise again.” I said. I could still feel the Seth staring a the back of my head.

“Yeah, I heard that. I’m sorry too. So much pressure is on you because no one will stand up with you. Thank you so much for all that you have done.”
