Chapter 39:
Now there must be something seriously wrong with Cain. Who in their right mind would say that to their enemy and not expect to get kicked in the nuts? Which is exactly what I did. Right now I was watching Cain double over in pain getting laughed at by the girls whilst all the guys stood around wincing. They didn't feel the pain but they definitely knew what it felt like.
Cain groaned and let out a sharp exhale. He looked up at me through his fringe scowling and growling. I just smiled at him loving the fact that I was able to hurt him and the fact he will never say that again. Who in their right mind would say that anyway? It was like a death sentence from a pregnant woman.
"You shouldn't have done that," he growled. I have to admit I was a little frightened because he was a werewolf and all but I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of showing it.
"And why not?" I spat back.
His hand darted out and I felt a sharp stinging sensation on my cheek. My face snapped to the opposite direction making me cry out.
He slapped me. That asshole.
I held my cheek gingerly as I turned my head back to look at him. "You slapped me..." I glared at him as the tears sprung to my eyes. I will not cry, not in front of him.
A pain ripped through my stomach again and I screamed. Cain fell back in surprise and I would have laughed in his face is I wasn't writhing about on the ground. Alisha grabbed my arms holding me down on the floor. Another scream erupted from me bringing every single eye on my form. Whatever attention I didn't have before I have now.
A pulling sensation had started at my lower back like a really bad period pain. Something was definitely wrong with me. Could there be something wrong with the baby? Could my body be fighting off the baby? Or worse; have I started going into labour?
"It hurts!" I said through gritted teeth. I shut my eyes tight and wrestled against the restraints of my body. I needed to to something-anything to distract me from the pain. I slammed my head against the floor making a loud THWACK sound and my body went limp for a few moments. My eyes snapped opens no black dots swam in my vision. OK the hit worked for a bit, drawing me away form the agonizing pulling and prodding in my stomach, but the fogginess was dissipating and soon I would be back.
There was so much noise around me, talking, shouting, screaming, panic.
I was lifted off the ground by a few werewolves-still thrashing about in their grip-and they hauled me away. My eyes were met by darkness for a few seconds before the light was reignited. They placed me on a comfortable surface and propped my back up with pillows.
"Get out of the way!" a woman said forcefully shoving her way through the crowd of unknown wolves. I gripped my stomach and let out a hiss as another wave hit. It was Mary. Her hands found my body and I grasped her hand tightly.
Sweat poured off my forehead and down my back making my clothes sticky. My nails dug into Mary's skin but she didn't seem to notice and I was glad I didn't have to release my grasp.
"What's happening to me?" I wheezed wriggling about a bit longer.
Her eyes travelled over my body, hesitating over my abdomen and pants. They returned to my face laced with concern and worry. "I think you might be going into labour."
"What?!" I screamed. Suddenly the pain died down to a dull ache in my back and abdomen. Like a period pain. I huffed and wiped the sweat away. It turns out I have thrashing about more than I thought. Pillows were scattered across the room from where I must have thrown them, the mattress was void of any blankets and my clothes were crinkled and scrunched up high. "I can't possibly be in labour. It's to early."
