'Phone tom already?' Lucius teased

'Thats not what i was going to say you little twat!' She reached out to grab him but he ducked under her grasp. 'Be careful luci or im gonna replace you with severus!' lula warned.

'Hello miss malfoy mr malfoy' dobbie said greeting them

'Dobbie, hello' lula said patting his head as she passed

'Bring our things up to our rooms and prepare the guest bed for my friend severus Snape.' lucius declared

'God you sound like father,' lula groaned from the top of the spiral staircase

After a long day of travel lucius was exhausted but severus couldnt sleep. The house made too many noises as it shifted. The mansion probably held many a ghosts.

He wandered through the dark shuffling his feet until he saw a light on in the library. He peaked in not wanting to disturb the malfoys but lula told him they werent even here. Still he peaked in to see lula sprawled out on a couch a book in her hands holding it out above her face. She turned to him when his footsteps gave him away, the creaking of the old floorboards.

'Hey sevy. Everything alright hon?' Lula asked sitting up.

'I cant sleep' he told her quietly from the door.

'Old big house weird noises?' She questioned and he nodded. 'Come here.' He stood right in front of her, her hands moving up and down his arms. 'If you want to go home, if you dont like it here just tell me and i can bring you-'

'No. No.' He said urgently. 'I dont want to go home. I want to stay.'

'You sure?' Lula questioned brushing his long black hair out of his eyes.

'Positive. Its just the house. Im not used to it. Im fine though. I want to stay with you... and lucius.' He added.

'Good. Maybe you will let me give you hair cut this Christmas,' she said playing with his hair. He liked the feeling of her fingers in his hair.

'I guess i should get back to bed,' he said but didnt move

'You want to stay here with me?' She questioned.

'Could i?' Severus questioned and lula hugged him pressing a kiss to his forehead

'Of course,' she told him. He fell asleep his head in her lap while her fingers ran through his hair reading him a story until her own eyes grew tired. When severus woke the next morning lula wasnt there. So he wiped the sleep from his eyes to hear the singing and laughter of lula coming from the kitchen.

'Sevy!' She said sliding a plate of waffles across the bar to an open seat.

'Hey severus' lucius said as he sat down. Dumping whipped cream on his stack of waffles.

'I think you have more whipped cream than waffles luci,' lula informed him dipping her finger into his food and sucking her finger clean.

'You made all this?' Severus questioned

'Of course!' Lula said pulling a fresh waffle from the pan.

'Lula loves to cook. Mother doesn't understand why considering the house elves can do everything mundane like that but what mother doesn't understand is that real food cooked with time-' Lucius told him.

'And love!' Lula added

'And love,' luci rolled his eyes. 'Are so much better than magically made waffles any day.'

'Thank you so much.' Severus told her he looked down to his waffles to see a smiley face made of fruit displayed on top. Strawberry for the eyes. Blueberries for the mouth and a banana slice for the nose. Lula popped another banana piece in her mouth winking at him.

'Luci doesn't appreciate my food art,' lula told him. 'He dumps whipped cream and syrup on it before even acknowledging the effort i put in to make a face or a picture on his food.'

'Ive never had someone put a smile on my food before,' severus told her.

'And now that you have? What do you think?' Lula questioned she was making a butterfly on her own waffle. She liked more fruit than waffle most days.

'I think i never want to eat anything besides your cooking for the rest of my life!' Severus declared.

'Im keeping him!' Lula declared. 'Severus appreciates me!' she told lucius 'why dont you?'

'I do to,' he said as severus ate. Flaky and fluffy. Perfection. Just like Tallulah.

But the bliss of pretending the lula was his was short lived for tom riddle came sooner than expected and took all of lulas attention.
