"This is so exciting !" Mirabel squealed
"You've mentioned that before..." Isabela lightly glared at her sister
Dolores just nodded with a smile
"I mean it's a party with cake ...Plus we get to meet new people" Camilo shrugged "So yeah it's cool"
"What did you get for the birthday girl?" Mirabel glanced sideways at him
"Abuela gave me a pair of earrings...But I got her a lollipop"
Dolores snickered "Very nice"
"Hey! It's strawberry flavored with a chewy center" He reached for his back pocket and pulled out the candy
"And shaped like a heart" Dolores raised both eyebrows and teased him "Dude you don't even know her"
Camilo smirked "But I will"
Mirabel laughed "Um I'm pretty sure abuela said she was born just before Luisa, that makes her a little old for you Milo"
"Aw" He playfully sulked
Isabela rolled her eyes "And what did you get her Lola?"
"Some hair bows" She smiled "I don't know what her favorite color is...So I got her one of each"
"That explains the big box" Camilo chuckled
"And you Isabela? Did you end up finding something for her?"
"Yeah"
"What is it"
"Oh it's just a bracelet"
"Can I see it?"
"It's wrapped"
"I guess we'll have to wait and see it on her" Mirabel smiled
"If she even wears it, I bet she will love the lollipop so much that she'll forget about your gifts" Camilo remarked with an obnoxious grin
"Uh huh"
"Is that the house?" Luisa looked down at her makeshift map
"Yeah, the one with the palm tree"
"Um guys...Maybe we came too early?" Dolores acknowledged the quiet and calm state of the property
"Well abuela told us to go ahead before them and they would come after tía Pepa finished getting ready" Mirabel glanced at them
"Plot twist the party is already over!" Camilo dramatically rubbed his face
"Oh please" Isabela rolled her eyes
"What if we just go in and find out" Luisa mumbled
"Oh yeah great idea" Camilo recovered with a smile
They headed to the front door and Isabela prepared to knock "Wait! Before we go in" She turned to look at Camilo "You...Please behave"
"What? Me? I always do primita"
"Whatever just don't embarrass me" She proceeded to knock on the door
"Why are you only telling that to me? There's three other people here"
"Are you seriously asking me that?" Isabela chuckled
"Yeah because-" He closed his mouth and smiled as soon as he heard steps coming from inside
Moments later Ricky opened the door, he was wearing a bright party hat and a pair of flamingo sunglasses "Hey there! Welcome" He waved them in "Nice to meet you all, I'm Ricky...I hope you remembered that" He looked at Isabela with a laugh
After everyone exchanged names they followed him to the backyard were some guests were already mingling around serenely
"Hey so my sister is out with my parents so we are planning on hiding and surprising her by jumping out when she gets here, would you guys be okay with that?"
"Totally" Isabela smiled
"I'll take the spot beside the snack table" Camilo grinned
Ricky snickered "All yours"
There was another knock on the door and Ricky excused himself to attend to it
"Ooh Mirabel he's cute and your age" Dolores whispered
"Shut up" She laughed while pushing her cousin away
"I love how they decorated the place" Luisa pointed at the vivid flowers
"Yeah, it looks like something you would do Isa" Mirabel simply stated not giving it much of a thought but when she looked at Isabela she had a huge sheepish smile
"Hold on...It is something that you did!?"
Isabela chuckled nervously "Well I...Yeah"
"What?! When? How?"
"Uh...Well her father asked if I could do it and I said yes, so last night I kind of sneaked out and-"
"Kind of sneaked out" Mirabel giggled
"Isabela sneaking out? What's next? Luisa hating donkeys?" Dolores faked her surprise
"Lola calm down even the perfect ones break the rules" Camilo smirked
"Ugh"
"So her father asked you to do it?"
"Yeah, we met up some time ago to talk about it"
"Oh" Mirabel's eyes widened "Does he happen to have a mustache?"
Isabela frowned "Yeah..."
"Wears glasses?"
"Yes. Why does it matter?"
"Now it makes sense"
"What makes sense?"
"Heh nothing" Mirabel coyly turned away and pulled Dolores to the side
"Lola I think that the man se saw with Isa the other day was Mr.Gomez, they were only discussing the decorations for the party" Mirabel murmured carefully
"But why did she look nervous that day?"
"Yeah there's that. Let's see how she acts around him"
"Okay"
"Everyone she's coming!" Ricky came back and motioned for everyone to hide in their preferred place
Luisa and Camilo ducked under the snack table meanwhile Isabela ran with Dolores and Mirabel to get behind one of the bushes
"Tío Bruno is going to be sad about missing this part" Luisa sighed
"They already know my mom takes a long time getting ready"
"Shh they're here" Isabela watched as Mrs. Gomez and her husband walked in followed by Elena, who looked beyond beautiful with a simple white and pink gown, her hair was down and it seemed to be lighter on the ends.
She was caught up by her looks that it took a few seconds to notice the guy that was next to her, holding her hand.
Then everyone jumped out and yelled "Surprise!"
