The raven grabbed his bag, shut his locker door and headed toward class. The weekend was pretty shit for him. He missed having his best friend around.
He missed Ara. Even though it had been two days since he last saw them, those days felt like months. The training was tiring.
They trained heaps over the weekend. He pushed open the locker room to see his team inside, getting ready for training.
"I swear my body is going to fall apart by the end of this training", Ryan mumbles, back muscles tense. Jungkook chucked his bag on the bench seats, starting to take off his clothes to get into his gym wear.
"How is Ara doing, Kook?" Ryan asked, sitting down next to his bag. "From what I know, she is doing good. My mum is looking after her today so that Taehyung could come to class."
"From what you know?" The male questioned, eyebrow raised in confusion.
"I haven't seen them for a couple of days, have not heard from Taehyung today."
"Have you seen him?"
"No, I should look for him before classes end."
"Our game is in a week. Do you guys have someone you're giving your jersey to?" Ryan asked the boys in the locker room. Some of them nodded, and others did not shake their head.
It was a huge part of basketball players' games and a college tradition. Whenever the Basketball teams had the big yearly match, they got their significant other to wear their basketball jersey.
Every year Jungkook has played, he has never let anyone wear his jersey. Even though he dated Boram for a few years, it never felt right. At those times, he was more focused on his gameplay, wanting to impress the coach and other scouts that could be watching.
The raven did not realise he was in deep thought until he heard the door get pushed open. They all turned their heads towards the sound to see Benjamin and his friends enter.
The locker room fell silent. The raven rolled his eyes as he continued to get changed. "What is with the look Jeon, not very father-like of you" Benjamin snickered, smirking when the male turned around.
"Your digs are so shit that did not even make sense." Ryan laughed, shaking his head afterwards.
"Who hurt you?" Namjoon questioned everyone's eyes now on the male's hand that was bleeding. It looked like skin had been torn from his hand.
"Looks like a cat attacked you", Hoseok commented, pulling the shirt over his head before leaving the locker room.
Before Benjamin could say anything else, Jungkook left the room alongside Ryan. "Gosh, he is so punchable", Ryan groaned, hand in a fist.
"I know, sadly, there is nothing we can do about that." After training was finished, which took up most of the class hours, he took a shower in the locker room stalls.
Not hearing from Taehyung made him feel worried. He usually would have. It was playing on his mind heaps. The basketball training went well since their game is next Friday they will have to train a lot.
They found out from the coach that other teams will have two teams competing. The raven was not keen on having Benjamin playing at the games. It was really, making the best team get to the finals.
This year was going to be different. Jungkook knew so. Many people come for the final game, the game between the two best teams. Every basketball team in every college wanted to compete for that trophy, but the only groups that are eligible to get it are the teams that make it to the finals.
His whole basketball team are anxious. It's their last game playing together. Their last game of basketball till they graduate. Sadly, Jungkook spent most of his time with this group- they were a part of his life.
With that sad thought, Jungkook stepped outside the showers to get changed. He checked his phone to see no messages from Taehyung but a few from his mother.
Placing his phone down, he quickly got changed and called her. "Hey Mum, how is Ara?" Jungkook asked, grabbing his bag and walking out of the locker room. "She is good. She is taking a nap.
Have you heard from Taehyung? Normally he checks in on Ara, but I have not heard from him. I know classes finished thrifty minutes ago, though he would be home by now" Her voice was laced with concern, and his eyes widened a little. This was unusual for Taehyung.
"I have not heard from him", Jungkook sighed, looking at the time on his phone to see it was nearly 5:00 pm.
"I will look for him. Are you okay with looking after Ara for a little longer?""Of course, I will start making some dinner just in case."
"Okay, thank's mum, yup bye", Jungkook replied before ending the call. Heading down the hallways as he looks through the classrooms that Taehyung has.
He walked into the classroom that Jiu and Taehyung go to, but it was empty. Most students have already left, and not many people have classes at five in the afternoon.
"Hey, look, what are you still doing here?" He heard Ryan's voice come from behind him, causing him to flinch and turn around quickly.
"Geez, don't sneak up on me like that", Jungkook groaned, eyes shut as he tried to steady his breath.
"Sorry, dude", Ryan chuckled, hitting his back as they both walked the same way.
"I am trying to find Taehyung. I have not heard from him. Classes have finished, and he has not gone home. My mother is watching Ara. Taehyung was meant to be back by now."
Ryan could see why he would be worried. It was not like the brunette to not answer calls or texts.
"What are you boys still doing here?" They both turned around fast to see Mrs Garrett walking towards them with curious eyes.
"We have been trying to look for Taehyung", Ryan replied as they watched her walk towards them. "I was going to ask the something thing. He did not show up for his last two classes." Mrs Garrett said, frowning when they all realised something was wrong.
"My mother is currently looking after Ara. She said Taehyung was meant to be home an hour ago," Jungkook whispered, looking at Ryan, who nodded.
"We called him, texted him. It is not like him to not reply to our texts."
"I looked around the classrooms and the building and could not find him."
"I asked around, and people saw him here today", Ryan commented, looking at the teacher who nodded. "Okay, so we have a student who has gone missing."
"Yeah, we can't even call the police, though. It has not been 24 hours since he went missing?" Jungkook groaned. That was the shitty thing. Suppose you had a gut feeling that someone was in danger and could not find them.
You cant file a missing person report. As all three of them walked down the hallways talking about the possibility of him being at work, Jungkook's eyes landed on a locker that had something red oozing out of it.
His heart dropped as he placed his arm in front of Ryan, causing them all to stop.Ryan followed his gaze to see the locker.
"What is that?" He whispered. Mrs Garrett had never seen anything like this in her life. It felt like something off of stranger things. The teacher walked toward the locker.
She opened it to see a bat inside with a shit tone of blood smothered against it. "Wow," Ryan said as he stepped back. "Is that human blood?" Jungkook questioned, stepping towards the locker to see the blood all over the locker floor.
"Whos's locker even is this?" "Boys, you stay here. Don't touch anything," The teacher stated, walking down the hallway and heading towards the office rooms.
"What the fuck is happening?" Jungkook sighed, hands brushing through his hair as he walked back and forward.
