"I'm on my way to help Damon find Elena," Stefan's voice comes through the phone.

"What do you mean find?" I ask.

"Well his little plan to try to get Elena's to turn her switch back on didn't work, she ran off with Rebecca and we have no idea where she is now." He replies.

"Sounds like a fun pack day," My phone beeps and I see Klaus's name pop up on the screen. I hit decline again. "Listen I have to go find Matt, he said he needs some help with something."

I hang up before he can reply and I head to Mystic Grill.

***
"Allison," Matt calls my name out from behind the bar, I'm standing in the front entry way of Mystic Grill. He rushes over and wipes his hands off on the towel that's hanging from his back pocket.

"Matt," I smile at him, "what was so urgent you couldn't tell me over the phone?"

He rubs the back of his neck, "Listen, I know things have been a little rocky lately."

"That's an understatement..." I mumble, I feel my phone going off once more and see Klaus's name again.

"Do you need to take that?" Matt asks, gesturing to my phone.

I shake my head, "no one of importance," I hit decline. "Okay, I'm listening."

I can tell Matt's nervous, because he keeps fidgeting with the towel, "I know Tyler is gone and I know you're really struggling with the fact he didn't say goodbye. I'm not trying to replace him or anything but prom is next week and I remember you mentioning how excited you were to go.."

I completely forgot prom was coming up, I remember Caroline trying to get me to join prom committee and I refused but as the reigning Miss. Mystic Falls I am required to attend. "Ugh.." I groan and sit down in the closest booth. "I don't even want to think about prom, I don't have a dress or a date. I can't just show up as Miss. Mystic falls by myself, how humiliating.."

Matt sits across from me, he is smiling slightly, "Well that's why I asked you here..." he paused, "I was hoping I could take you to prom.."

I freeze, a little startled by the question. "Really?"

He nods, "Yes, I mean I don't have a date either, so I figured we could go together. It would look really bad if the captain of the football team didn't show up with a date."

Matt has been very supportive these past few weeks, he has listened to me cry on the phone endless times about Tyler being gone and how Klaus hurt me. To be honest I've been so selfish because I know Matt is hurting just as much, he lost his best friends in the matter of months. He is failing school and doesn't even know if he is going to graduate. He has been there for me and I  haven't been there for him.

"You know what," I smile, "I'd love to be your date."

Matt's eyes light up, "Really?"

I nod, my phone goes off again and I don't even have to look to see it's Klaus. He has called over 20 times today. "Yes really," I start to stand, "I better go find a dress"

Matt stands too, "Uh yeah, just let me know what color corsage you want."

I start at my phone seeing this time Klaus left a voicemail. "Surprise me." I smile softly, "I'll see you soon."

I don't wait for Matt to reply as I head outside the grill, I click on the voicemail and expect some rude comment to come through. Instead it's not rude, Klaus's voice plays through the speaker. "Allison," he groans, "I know I am the last person you want to hear from but I need you. Please." He pleads.
