I flop down on the couch next to Tyler, "What do you want to do today?" I ask him, he's texting on his phone and doesn't respond, "Earth to Tyler?"
He looks up, "uh not sure, what's everyone else doing?"
"Damon is working with Silas trying to see if he can get Bonnie back from the dead. Stefan doesn't remember I'm his sister, therefore doesn't really want to hang out with me. Jeremy is doing high school stuff. Elena and Caroline are distracting themselves from the fact Bonnie is dead by stalking their hot, but mysterious professor and Matt.." I pause, I haven't told Tyler about the brief fling Matt and I had while he was out of town "Matt is working at the grill." I rattle off everyone's agenda for the day. Tyler still is typing away on his phone.
"Okay," I push the phone out of his hands and sit on his lap, "what is so important that you won't even acknowledge me?"
Tyler sighs, "sorry, it's one of the pack members I was helping down in Louisiana."
I frown, "I thought you were in Tennessee?"
"Uh yeah I was," he hesitate, "but then I found a new pack in Louisiana that needed my help so I went there."
I nod, still unsure why he didn't mention it before, before I can continue to question him my phone goes off.
"Hey Damon," I answer as I crawl out of Tyler's lap and walk towards the kitchen.
"Little sister," Damon says, "What are you doing tonight?"
I glance back at Tyler who is taking advantage of my absence to once again start texting on his phone, "Based on my current view, nothing."
"Good, I need you to come to the Whitmore Historical Ball tonight."
I freeze, "The what?"
"I'm not sure but according to Caroline it's the one time a year were they put their whole collection on display, and everyone dresses up as famous historical figures." Damon explains, "apparently Stefan even has a costume."
"I'll pass." I say as I watch Tyler from a far, wondering who he could possibly be texting that much from a pack.
"But I already got you and Tyler the cutest costumes," Damon declares, "Bonnie and Clyde!"

I finish getting ready for the stupid ball Damon is forcing me to attend. I check the time, Tyler said he'd come pick me up in a hour but he still isn't here. My mind is racing, I thought now that he's back he'd be wanting to give our relationship a second chance but his been more sketchy than ever.
My phone is vibrating, I see Klaus's name pop up on the screen. "Hello."
"Love," Klaus's voice immediately calms my nerves, "How are things up in Mystic Falls? A bore as usual?"
"Despite the depressing funeral for Bonnie, nothing to crazy." I reapply my lipstick.
"I am sorry to hear about the death of the Bennett witch, she truly was amazing."
"How are things in New Orleans?" I ask, changing the subject.
"Elijah is finally back," Klaus states, "the witches did try to kill Hayley and the baby. She's convinced it's a girl."
I feel my heart drop to my stomach, I don't want to be upset about the fact Hayley is giving Klaus a child but it's hard not to be jealous or envious. "Is she okay?"
"Yes, some angel wolf protected her or whatever." Klaus goes on, "I wanted to see how much longer you'd be gone? I could really use your help down here. I know you're not a fan of Hayley but I'm too busy trying to get my kingdom back, Eljiah is making friends with a little witch name Davina and Rebekah is too busy trying to win back Marcel affection."
