Ethan's PoV

Lizzie asked me to accompany her to join her family's reunion, and of course, I said yes. There's just this one problem. This is my first time meeting the esteemed Olsens. Will they accept me? A thought gave me the chill, whether or not the famous Olsen twins would approve of me.

I was already so I was staring at the window where the skyline is visible. "Babe, come on, we'll be late." My girlfriend said. "Coming, baby."

We drove down the highway as Lizzie instructed me the directions to their family house. I'm not gonna lie, I was nervous all the way there. What should I say? Oh, do my clothes look presentable? What kind of man do they want for Lizzie? Am I qualified?

Elizabeth's PoV

"Babe, you seem a bit tense, you okay?" I asked him while checking my purse. He didn't answer. I look up at him and he seems to be buried deep in his thoughts. "Babe," I call a little louder. "Huh? Sorry, what was that?" I sigh. "Babe," I held his hand. "I know this is your first time meeting them, but you don't have to be nervous. They're my family and they will respect the person I love." I smile sweetly.

"Yeah but we're talking about THE Olsen Family, not an ordinary family. It's often all about high reputations, babe." He said, holding his chin while driving. "I'm just your normal girl, Ethan. Nothing more. A human being like you. So are my family. They will like you." I comfort him.

"Okay," he sighed. I held his hand and squeezed it gently, which made him look at me one more time. He smiled and continued driving.

We arrived home and we both stood at my parents' porch hand in hand. I gently press the doorbell and took a step back. Then the door opened, revealing my mother, Jarnette. "Mom!" I exclaimed as I jumped to embrace her. "Lizzie my girl, welcome home." she smiled. Then her eyes met Ethan's. I saw his face make a nervous smile. "Pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Olsen." he extended a hand. Mom looked at it first before accepting it, then looked at his face again. "Ah yes, the infamous boyfriend. I hope you're treating my daughter well."

"Y-yes, of course, Mrs. Olsen."

"Call me Miss Chase, I'm no longer married."

"My apologies, Miss Chase." Ethan bowed his head, directly looking at the floor. "Babe," I called to him with a concerned expression on my face. " Mom, not here." I pleaded. "Alright, come on in." she ushered us inside where the house is full of our extended families.

I held his hand as we entered. "It'll be okay," I whispered. He put on a fake smile as we walked through the living room. That's when I saw my siblings chatting on the couch. "Hey!" I approached them as they each greeted me. "Guys, this is Ethan, my boyfriend." All of them looked at him carefully, then I hear my brothers crack their knuckles. "Oh, hello. Nice to meet you." Ashley was the first who extended a hand. "I'm Ashley, one of the twins."

"Pleased to meet you, Miss Ashley Olsen." Ethan smiled as he took her hand. I gave him an approving nod. "And I'm-"

"Miss Mary-Kate Olsen, Mr. Trent Olsen, Mr. Jake Olsen, and Miss Courtney Olsen." he named each of them, pointing them one by one. "Oooh, someone did his research." Courtney teased. The boys are still looking at him, with a cold blank expressions. He approached them all and shook their hands.

"Good, you're all properly acquainted. Now, what's up?" I sit beside James, also known as Trent, and pulled Ethan beside me. I gave him a reassuring squeeze as I continue to talk with my siblings.

A few moments later, the feast starts to begin. Mom called us to the dining area and we all took our seats at the table. That's when dad made his entrance. He's always been like this, always at the dramatic entrances. "Papa Olsen is here!" he exclaimed as he was followed by my stepmother, McKenzie. "Hello." she greeted. Mom and McKenzie have been getting along well for the past years since they've come up with an agreement that as long as there is peace inside the family, they will remain at peace as well.

Dad was about to sit down on the main seat of the table when he stopped, and his eyes landed on Ethan. Do they seriously have to make those expressions?

"Who's this?" he pointed at Ethan. "Oh, pleased to finally meet you, Mr. Olsen. I'm Ethan Smith, Elizabeth's boyfriend." He extended a hand. Dad just looked from Ethan's hand to his eyes, then let out a hearty laugh. "HAHA! No need for formalities, boy. Welcome to the family." Dad stood up and squeezed him into a tight hug. "Daaaaad." I said burrowing my face into my hands. "Alright, alright. Let the feast begin, Olsens!"

We happily ate as a family at the table, and a huge part of me was happy and relieved since Ethan was here with me, taking baby steps toward making it into the family.

A few conversations were made later, Dad changed the subject. "So, when are you gonna marry my daughter?" Dad pointed at Ethan. Gosh, my face was so red. "Dad!" I exclaimed. "What? I was just asking if you would ever make another step forward into your relationship. You guys are too slow." Dad commented, pointing at the both of us.

"Well," Ethan started, fidgeting his hands. "As far as I've observed, he's a total gentleman. They love each other genuinely." Courtney stated. At least she's on our side. Ethan smiled. "Thank you. I love Lizzie so much, I'd do anything for her." He gazed up at me and I smiled. "Hmm, I suppose," Mary-Kate added, as she was chewing her food. Phew, that's three down. four more to go."

"Yeah, I can see that too," Ashley said. "They do love each other. "

"Ethan, would you come with me for a second?" Mom stood up. "Excuse us for a second." They were followed by my brothers. Oh no. Ethan made another fake smile. He was nervous, I knew it. Mom was putting him under so much pressure. An awkward silence filled the room. I was worried it'd come to this. I slowly put my hand on my face.

I felt a hand rub my back, it was Courtney. She tried to comfort me.

Ethan's PoV

"So," Jarnette started. "I just wanted to make it clear to you that you will not, and will never hurt her. Lizzie is a precious gem of mine, and I'm sure you understand how protective I am of her."

"Yes, of course, I completely understand, Miss Chase," I replied.

"Don't ever dare to even think of cheating on my little sister, you hear? Or you'll have to face us." Trent said while Jake nodded. "I'd never. She's the only girl I'll ever love. I wouldn't find any other girl like her. Just her." I said confidently.

That's when I see Jarnette smile. "Good. I trust that you will take care of her, son." she placed her hand on my shoulder. "I will, thank you, Miss Chase."

"Call me mom. I know these types of moves. I think that soon enough, I'll be your mother-in-law. Yes, I'm giving you my blessing." she smiled.

"O-oh," I blushed. "Th-thank you, Mom." It's kinda awkward saying that, it's been a long time since I've called anyone mom. "Now let's go back, I know Lizzie's been dying to know if I killed you or not." she chuckled.

We returned to the table as Jarnette shoot a wink at me. I smiled. "You're back," Lizzie said. "Yup, I got their approval, don't worry." I smiled. "Oh thank goodness," she said as she leaned back in her seat.

The atmosphere soon winds down, so I took the opportunity to talk to Mr. Olsen. "Mr. Olsen!" I called and he looked back. "Yes, boy?"

"Um, if you would, I uh, wanted to ask for your.....daughter's hand in marriage." I blurted out. "Ah. That. You sure do look like a polite boy, lad. Just promise me one thing." he replied.

"Anything, sir," I said. "Don't treat her like how I treated her mother. Stay with her until the end. You get that?"

"Yes sir. She's the only girl I'll ever love." I replied and he squeezed my arm. "Welcome to the family, son."

Some time later, we all went on to our separate ways. Lizzie got to the car first. I was about to leave the house when the Olsen twins blocked my exit. "Hey, Ethan," Mary-Kate spoke. "We just wanted to say one thing." I nodded, urging them to continue. "Take care of our little sister, okay? If anything happens to her," Ashley shoot me a glare. "You die. 'kay?" Mary-Kate continued. "Y-yes, ma'ams." They both pulled me into a hug, so I hugged them back.

We went home with a smile not leaving my face. "Why are you so damn happy?" Lizzie asked, still looking at me. "Oh, nothing." I saw her scrunch her nose. "You're up to something, again." she pouts.

"You'll see, baby."
