Chapter 16

I woke up full of dirt, and leaves stuck in my hair with a couple of twigs here and there. I sat up slowly taking in the view in front of me, but all I saw were trees surrounding me and complete darkness. I sighed and rubbed my eyes to wake myself up and groaned remembering what happened the day before with Alice. I hated the fact that she told me those things those words of just hatred and sympathy those words that hurt me deeply. I can still hear her voice in my head...it's echoing it's hurting me. I pulled my knees to my face and just screamed my lungs out, I didn't know what to do I just want her.

I stood there for who knows how long and decided to just walk. Maybe walking will help me clear my head and figure out what to do, I walked until I got to a river and kneeled down and drank from it but stopped when I heard rustling sounds behind me, I listened to see what it was but everything went quiet. I got up and kept walking telling myself that it was just an animal or something but as I kept walking the sounds started again making me stop and look around but again nothing appeared and it went quiet again, I just shrugged it off and turned around but stopped in my tracks when I saw a wolf staring at me in the distance.

It had light blue eyes, black fur and it was huge...it was an Alpha wolf. I felt my fangs retract out of my gums and a growl escaped out of my mouth. It growled back showing its huge teeth and lowered itself into its pouncing position, I got on all fours and did the same hissing back at it the wolf walked backwards and started running towards me I growled and ran full speed at it and soon we both collided and began to fight. It bit my arm while I clawed its face my arm will heal in seconds so the pain was nothing to me, I grabbed it by its neck and tried to suffocate it in order to have time to leave but it flung me so hard I hit a tree with my back which caused me to yelp in pain. It stood there growling until I got up and dusted myself off like if nothing happened and growled back at it. The wolf charged towards me but I grabbed a near by branch and swung at it so hard that it flew backwards I didn't even try to see if it was dead or not I just wanted to leave.

I ran full speed to a nearby town and looked around for a safe place to stay until my strength came back. My wounds weren't healing fast and I felt weak I had to feed but I didn't want to kill anyone I don't like doing it but it's my nature and I have to do it in order to survive. I looked around to find someone to feed off of and my eyes landed on a woman who was walking towards a dark alley...perfect... I walked towards her quietly she looked back but kept walking I could hear her heartbeat quickening she was afraid someone was following her my fangs popped out and I walked behind her, she stopped and turned around slowly her eyes growing big when she noticed that I was stalking her, my eyes were red and my fangs were showing, she was going to scream but I covered her mouth and but her neck taking what I needed her heartbeat slowed which meant I had to stop, I licked her wound and searched in her purse to look for where she lived when I found her ID I looked at the address and picked her up to take her home. She won't remember what happened it'll seem like it was just a dream nothing real, as I reached her home I looked around making sure that no one was around and to my surprise the streets were empty, as I saw her house I began to walk towards it I opened the door and laid her on the couch making sure that she was comfortable as soon as I did I left her house in a couple of seconds.

I kept running until I reached the woods but even though I got to them I kept going deeper and deeper away from the little town away from the humans. I stopped to rest I was beginning to feel weak I didn't feed too much I didn't want to kill her. I sat down near a tree and looked up at the sky it was beginning to get dark, I thought about Alice I missed her so much I hate how she just decided to do this I'm her mate I'm supposed to be there protecting her from any harm that can be caused by anyone or anything. Especially from her step father oh how I hate him I can't believe he would let his friend...

Oh my god...I never told her about what he was going to do to her when she got back home! Skylar you're such a fucking idiot!!!

I got up quick and ran back to the hospital hoping that she was still there hoping that she did not go home.
