A few hours have passed.

I woke up to see Dimitri sitting in the rocking chair with Isabella. He looked like he was in heaven. "Hey beautiful, how did you sleep?" He asked when he noticed I was awake. "Everything hurts." I said quietly, my voice worn from my screaming earlier... He stood up from the chair and walked over to me. "You still look as beautiful as ever. And you did an amazing job." He leaned down and kissed me. "Mammas turn." He said as he gently passed Isabella to me. My face lit up again as soon as I looked at her. "I think she is hungry." He said as he sat on the edge of the bed beside me.

Just as I pulled out my boob, the Dr walked in. "Ah good, I'm just in time." She smiled as she walked over. "Let's get her to latch. We'll make you both a pro in no time." And so we got to work. "She's a little genius." The Dr smiled as she spoke. "You wouldn't think she is only a few hours old. Right, I'll leave you to it. We'll keep you in for tonight and see how you're going tomorrow. If all is well, we might get you three out of here and off home." With that, she headed out. We were both entranced watching her drink. Might I say, it's a fucking weird feeling.

"I'm so in awe of you." Dimitri whispered as he kissed my temple, I just smiled. Once she was fed, I burped her. It was the cutest little burp I have ever heard. We just couldn't take our eyes off of her. She is the sweetest thing. "The pups are gonna freak." I spoke quietly, she was falling asleep. "Yeah they are. I'm freaking too." He said as he gently ran his finger over her cheek. I laughed as I looked at him. "Me too. My mind still can't comprehend that we have a baby. But then I look at her, and I'm like. Okay, this is real." He chuckled as he kissed me.

We relished in the moment for ages. It was so peaceful watching her sleep. "You hungry? I can go grab a snack." Dimitri spoke quietly, trying not to wake her. "A man that knows his way to a girl's heart." I grinned as I looked at him. He just laughed and kissed me. "I'll be back shortly." He kissed me one more time before he left. By the time he got back with food, Isabella was awake. I had my knees up slightly with her laid back on them. "Here you go sweetie." He said as he passed me a wrapped up item. I unwrapped it and it was a sandwich absolutely filled with cold cut meats.

"Oh I love you so much!" I said as I took a big bite out of it. He had a sandwich as well, he sat by my feet while he ate. I was half way through my sandwich when Dr Norvick popped her head in. She just laughed when she looked at me. I was suddenly embarrassed. "This must look so bad, eating over my newborn baby..." I said as I swallowed my mouthful. She just shook her head as she smiled. "It's not the first time I've seen it and it won't be the last. Cold cuts?" She asked as she leaned against the door frame. I just nodded. "Classic. You enjoy that food. You earned it." She smiled then walked off again. I just looked at Dimitri and we both started laughing.

We'd finished eating a while ago, at the moment we're just watching Isabella. It never gets boring! "Mum wants to come by and see her. You feeling up to it? I can tell her no if you're not ready." He said as he kissed my temple. "I'm exhausted, but that's fine. We won't make them suffer and wait." I laughed. "I'll let her know then grab her from out the front." He said as he kissed me on the cheek. We'd also let Sydney know she could come round. Luckily they arrived at the same time, they all rushed into the room super excited. It was just Olena by herself, everyone else will be busy with their day.

They all gushed over Isabella, including Dimitri. You wouldn't think he'd just spent the last numerous hours with her. He's a proud daddy. Having visitors really finished me off, I was completely exhausted now. Olena had already headed off, it was just Sydney here with us now. "She really is so precious guys. Even for a dhampir." She smirked, we both just laughed. "I should probably get back to the pups before they eat the door and find their way here." This got us laughing real good, then I cringed with pain. Everything is still quite tender it would seem. Shortly after that she headed off.
