~~~~~~~2 more weeks have passed~~~~~~~
Well not much has happened, everyday is same as the last. The pups are getting a little bigger everyday, it's so cute. We've even started taking them to our theory classes. To begin with our teachers weren't very amused, pretty much everyone of them went and had a word with Kirova about them. But they are too well behaved during class, they just sit at our feet under the desks the whole time. It's great because everyone knows that they are wolf pups so it makes them all stare clear of us even more. We're slowly building up our tolerance to all our physical classes, we don't wake up as sore in the mornings... Only tired. Our dreams are still flooded with nightmares every night, sadly I think it's going to stay like that for a long time.
It was a Monday again so our week is just starting out, I already felt exhausted. We'd just made our way to our last actual class of the day Advances Guardian Combat Training. The pups are so good now we don't even have to tell them anything during classes, they just know to behave. This last week Stan has been making Dimitri and I spar with other students a lot more. We are still highly uncomfortable with this, but there's nothing we can do about it. Today I got stuck with the biggest guy in class, he's almost as tall as Dimitri, but a lot stockier. Dimitri was lean and sexy, Mathew Drovdike is just... big. I'd learnt a lot from my time working with Dimitri, even before everything that happened to us recently.
I tried my best to hone in my Dimitri taught skills, if I could just manage that I know that I could take Mathew out. Today was a serious training day, no holding back on any account. As I walked onto the mat, he just grinned a terrible grin at me. I know I'm ready to fight him but at the same time I really don't want to. When I was a strigoi I was totally ruthless, I'd take on someone ten times my size if I came across them. Something about Mathew was throwing me off though, and I know that I'm now really good at taking on anyone bigger than me. Only I had a really weird feeling about this guy. He hasn't always been here, he transferred when we were 'away'. Dimitri was standing right at the edge of the mat, I think he was sensing something weird like I was. "You should tie the pups up or something, if this goes badly I don't want them reacting and getting in trouble." I spoke quietly and quickly to him before I had to step forward.
He gave me a sharp but worried look before he walked over to the pups, attaching their leads to something that'd anchor them down. I took the daring steps towards my opponent, trying to control my breathing as I did. I'm not sure why this was getting to me so much, but there was just something off. Then Stan called it. And so we set off, Mathew tried to land many blows but I was good at fending him off. Dimitri ended up staying by the pups as unlike other times I've done this, this time they were really unsettled. I managed to land some blows before Mathew could, not that they seemed to phase him. Then he landed his first hit, it sent me flying back across the mat, landing with a loud thud. I jumped back to my feet, shaking myself off, preparing for the next oncoming attack.
He seemed to have great pleasure in what he was doing, I, not so much. I blocked a couple more attacks before I faltered, opening myself up for another brutal attack. This time he hit my ribs, knocking all the air out of me leaving me standing there gasping while he hit me again. He hit the exact same spot and I for sure felt my ribs break. I let out a cry of pain, before I then had to retaliate. I pushed past the pain and manage to land a round house kick, missing his head I hit the centre of his chest. And like all my other hits it didn't seem to phase him... I wasn't the strongest of people but I also wasn't weak. And I know the kick I just did had a lot of force behind it. Something was definitely not right here. And then he landed his last hit. He did the exact same kick that I had done to him, except his sent me across the gym, into a wall and then everything went black.
Dimitri POV
I couldn't handle watching this fight, something was up with Mathew. The hits Rose was landing would've even set me back and caused a great amount of pain, but it was like he felt nothing. She landed a really good round house kick to the centre of his chest, it should've dropped him to the ground but it didn't. Instead he just did the same to her, only it sent her across the room. When she smashed into the wall it made the most horrible sound then her body just crumbled to the ground. The pups started going crazy, barking and freaking out. I told them to sit as I ran to Rose's side, thankfully they listened and stopped barking. I pulled Rose into my arms and checked that she still had a pulse and was breathing, thankfully she did.
