Well. We're in Russia. Moscow to be exact. Our trip so far:
After leaving the academy and driving for a few days, we ended up in Montreal. Here is where we spent a lot of our time, killing strigoi.
When we needed to move on, we settled in Maine. We were there when we decided to go to Russia.
To fly to Russia we had to drive the 5h 30m hour drive back to Montreal.
Departing Montreal, we fly for 6h 50m to Paris. We have a 1h 10m lay over there.
Departing Paris, we fly for 3h 50m to Moscow.
And that brings us to where we are now. May I just say, Paris is amazing. Well what little we seen of it. So Moscow, Dimitri seemed so at home just being back in Russia. Despite the cold, I was enjoying myself already. We've just gotten off the flight, waiting to pick up the pups. They aren't going to be very amused that they had to fly with the rest of the animals, and not with us. Apparently Sydney worked her alchemist ties and bypassed the quarantine period for the pups, which is a big bonus for us. And finally they arrived. The person that brought them out in their crates looked rather uncomfortable, guess he realised they are actual wolves.
"Ah... here's your dogs." He said nervously, standing a great distance from them. I just walked over and let them out, to which his eyes went as wide as saucers. "Alexei, Serafima Sidet." I spoke sternly, they both came to my side and sat down. The guy shakily held out a clip board to me. "Ah... you need to sign to say you have them." I signed the page and he basically ran away, causing the both of as to laugh. "Right, we need to grab our bags. I'm sure Sydney will be here shortly, and you know she doesn't like waiting around." Dimitri chuckled as he put his arm around my waist and kissed the top of my head. The pups followed us without an issue, there were a couple of people that thought they were so cute and wanted to pat them. I know they wouldn't do anything bad to them, but I didn't want strangers interacting with them.
Turns out we were right about Sydney, she was by the bag collection area impatiently waiting for us. She had a bag at her feet, so she must've arrived around the same time as us? Surely she wasn't on the same flight as us, we'd been in first class and she doesn't strike me as the kind of person that flies coach. Like always the pups sketched her out, but they were slowly growing on her. Serafima recognised her as a familiar face and cheerfully ran up to greet her, shockingly Sydney actually gave her a pat. We quickly grabbed our bags and made our way out of the airport. It was day time, the sun was out but there was a chill to the breeze. "So what's the plan Syd?" I said with a smile, I got a grimace in return. "Just don't." She said stonily. "You said you wanted to go to Omsk?" She turned to Dimitri to ask, he just nodded. "Right, well I'm not driving with you. It'll be like now, I'll meet up with you there then you can go about your business." Man she really doesn't like us.
"Can we kill strigoi on the way there, if we happen to come across them?" I asked cheerfully, she sighed as she thought about it. "Fine, but you have to be extremely careful. Don't go leaving them lying around like you used to. You'll have to hide them if I'm not close enough to clean up straight away." We talked with her for a little more then decided to part ways. We started walking down the street, pups following by our sides. They are so well behaved. "So how far away is Omsk?" I asked as we wandered along. "A 35h 30m drive. Straight driving." He said so casually. I actually stopped walking from the shock of hearing that. "You're kidding!" He just shook his head. "Why on earth are we driving there?" By now I had started walking again. "Because its like 44h by train." I honestly felt my jaw drop at that point. "Could we not have flown?" Man, that's such a long time to be sitting, again.
"Well we could, but that's another 3ish hours on a plane. And that's another flight for the pups to endure." We had come to stop at a wee café as we were pretty hungry. "Is that not better than a day and half of straight driving?" We went in to ask for a table outside and grabbed some menus. "Roza, it's a nice drive. I thought you'd enjoy the scenic experience, see the countryside. If you really don't want to, I suppose we could just fly." He had a sad note in his tone. I have a feeling it's not the first time he's made the drive, and I think now he wants to reminisce over that. I sighed. "No, it's okay. We'll do the drive. Besides, surely we'll come across some Strigoi along the way." I laughed. Just as I said that the waitress came out to take our order, I just hoped she didn't overhear what I just said.

VampireSo I love the Vampire Academy books, they are so great. This story is based around the books, but with a twist. So Dimitri is Rose's forbidden teacher lover, everything else would mostly play out the same: group of friends, Lissa & Christian, Mason...
