I wake up to talking? I stretch as I prompt myself to wake up properly. I slowly climb out of bed, yup, still feeling a bit tender down there. I look around the room, Dimitri and Isabella are gone. Don't panic mamma bear. Don't panic. I walk towards the door as my hearing sharpens. The other voice I heard, is Abe. I push the door open and walk out. I'm just in pajama pants and a breastfeeding singlet. Don't worry, it covers everything, it just has these flap things you can open when you're feeding baby. "Good morning darling. How are you feeling?" Abe smiles as I walk in. "I didn't realise you were back already. I'm doing okay." I give a small smile. Throughout the pregnancy Abe and I worked on our father daughter relationship. But he frequently leaves the city, the country even, for business. "I cancelled everything as soon as you told me you had had my first ever grandbaby. I came back instantly to meet her. She is absolutely perfect. Well done you."

He stands up to give me a hug. Ugh hormones. I hastily wipe away the stray tears before he lets me go. "Please, sit. You must still be exhausted." He lets me go and motions to where he was sitting beside Dimitri. "Morning beautiful." Dimitri kisses me on the cheek as I sit down. "Hey. So what were you both talking about?" I asked skeptically. "Nothing interesting really. I was more fixated on that adorable little bug." Abe smiled. I frowned as I looked between the two of them. "I swear to god, if the two of you were arguing again, or threatening each other." They both tried to keep a straight face. "I will not hesitate to kick you both out and gate keep the baby." I warn. "Okay my love, we're sorry." Dimitri caves first. "Yes, we are both sorry, darling." Abe cuts in. "We were talking about the wedding." Dimitri finishes. Huh.

"Oh shit, yeah. I really need to finish planning that with Olena." I say as I grab Isabella from Dimitri. "Language!" Abe chastises. "Dad, I'm not going to change. Give it a rest." I blurt out as I start to feed Isabella, then I pause holding my boob. I slowly look up at Abe. "I... that wasn't on purpose. It just kinda slipped out." I shake my head then continue on with my task. Yay, awkward silence. "I like it. Call me that from now on." He says with an amused tone. I glance up at him, even more shocked now. Before I can say anything, he keeps speaking. "I'm serious. That's one thing you need to learn about me Rosemarie. I am a serious man, and I mean what I say." I just slowly nod, trying to arrange my thoughts.

"Well, then you have to call me Rose. No more Rosemarie, it makes me feel like I am in trouble every time you say it." He just laughs. "That I can do darling." He ends up spending most of the day with us, he even leaves to get lunch for all of us. It was actually really nice. "So how long are you in town for?" I ask as Dimitri works away in the kitchen making dinner. "Hmm?" He struggles to drag his eyes off Isabella, who he has been holding for so long now, surely his arms are getting tired. But looking at them, I can't help but smile. "I asked how long you're in town this time." I chuckle. "Oh, right. Yes, well I will be here for a couple of weeks for now. Some important business came up." I look at him skeptically. "Was that important business your granddaughter?" I laugh.

He pretends like I shot him in in the chest or something. "Guh, don't use that word. You make me feel ancient." This gets both Dimitri and I laughing. "But yes, for the most part, the important business was meeting and hanging out with the little bug." I shake my head at him and the nickname he has adopted for her. Before long dinner is ready, it's official, he spent the whole day with us. "Right, I will let the happy little family be. I have imposed on you all enough." Isabella is already in bed, she went to bed before we ate dinner. "Well, it was really nice having you around today." I stand up to walk him to the door. "Spending time like this with you now, just makes me regret listening to your mother all those years ago. I don't care that you are a dhampir, I would have stood proud as your father while you grew and turned into this amazing woman you are today."

There go the hormones again, I'm crying. "Don't cry darling." He wipes the tears away as we stop in front of the door." I wave him off. "Just the hormones. Ignore them." He wipes more away anyway. "Even with what you have been through, I could not be prouder of where you are now. You actively sought to make a difference in the world, the rest of our race needs to get on the same page. But as it stands, I couldn't be prouder." I was full blown balling now. He pulls me into a hug and holds me tight. He didn't let me go until I get my emotions under control again. "You have a good night my darling. I'll be there whenever you need me to be." He kissed me on the temple then left. "That was really nice of him to say." Dimitri says as he wraps his arms around me.
