Everyone was so happy when I shared the news about our DNA matching. From the I told you so from Aubree. To Carmen's unexplainable excitement. Nicki's tears of joy. I hope it'll be better then their anticipation. Dimitri decided that he was going to tell his children around the Thanksgiving holiday,and that if it's okay he'd like me to come spend Christmas with them. Carmen of course wants me to come. I don't mind,but I have to admit it makes me nervous. I guess I'll know when I get there. Here's to new beginnings right.

I was now five months pregnant, but not showing to much though. I think this kid understands our circumstances. I will be finding out today what I am having. I honestly don't care what the sex is just as long as it's strong and healthy. Of course most of my friends and family want it to be a girl except for Tara. She says we have too many girls as it is,and wants me to have a boy. It was an early appointment that I had,and Nicki was accompanying me.
"Dang Melly you couldn't have gotten an earlier appointment?" Nicki asked sarcastically as we walk towards her car zipping up her coat.
"Oh my God Nicolette,it's 9:15. That is not bad. Plus there's snow on the ground so I want to travel safely not rushing you know." I said starting up the car.
"I promise it won't be long,and I'll buy you breakfast then you can get right back in the bed when we get back." I say backing out of the parking spot. That seem to satisfy her because she was quiet the whole ride,or she could've fallen back asleep.
"We're now sitting in the room waiting for the sonographer. Nicki promised she'd video chat with everyone once we get started. Just then a lanky light skin black woman came in. Hair pulled in a tight bun,and minimal makeup. She was gorgeous.
"Good morning I'm Skylar,and I'll be doing the ultrasound for you today. So how are you feeling mommy?"She asks washing her hands.
"I'm okay,just a little tired and ready to find out what I'm having." And with that reveal she asks me to lay down and pull my shirt up. She measures my belly,and then puts the gelatinous goop on my stomach,and proceeds to locate my munchkins heartbeat.
"Oh my God,is that the heart?"Nicki asks surprised. The sonographer nods yes. "Wow it's going so fast." Nicki exclaims.
"It does sound fast, but that is what it's supposed to sound like. So don't worry. The baby has a healthy heart beat." She said cleaning off the wand and putting it back on the counter. "Now for the main attraction." Skylar said turning on the ultrasound machine.
"Um excuse me,can we do a video chat with my family/friends that couldn't be here?" Nicki asked holding up her phone. "I mean I just want to make sure it's not going to cause conflict with the machine or anything."
"No you're absolutely fine,but thank you for asking. Go right ahead and call your family,"
Nicki then opens the app and puts in all the names. They all answered almost immediately. I then see Aubree, Noelle, Sarah,Carmen, Erica,Darla and Tara on the screen. When they saw my bare belly I was met with "aww" and "cute," my stomach isn't even that big. I then look at the sonographer who was enjoying all of the noise and chaos.
"You guys missed hearing the heartbeat." Nicki exclaims like it was for our ears only.
"Oh man really." I hear Darla saying with disappointment.
"We'll why didn't you call us then yuh dummy." Aubree yells. All of them agreeing in unison.
"I didn't know she was gonna do that. I just ask about the sonogram." Nicki claps back.
